What skyline?

I kid, I kid.

Did you not hear the rumor? Pegula is going to build himself a skyscraper in Buffalo like Mugatu, except his will have a giant P on top of it.

He is after the Bills because the NFL is a money making machine. Each team gets around $130MM on TV deals alone.

Add in revenue sharing and sponsorships and you are rolling in the big bucks!

Yeah, an NFL franchise is as close to a "sure thing" investment as you can get in this country. You just need the cash up front to invest.

Let’s play devil’s advocate
$1.3B to buy the Bills
$400M to break the lease
$1B for new stadium in TO
I also believe there is a relocation fee that JBJ group would have to pay the other 31 NFL owners. Someone correct me if I’m wrong
This all equals, NOT HAPPENING! Thank you Mr. Terry Pegula
Thank you Mr. Ralph Wilson for never selling us out to a high bidder in the past. They're here to stay people

Edit: I've never been so happy to finish 6-10

- jzabawaj

Let's take out the $400 million to break the lease - we all know there are escape clauses.

But looking at the rest of your equation, why would you bring the Bills to Toronto when you can bring them to LA for less money?

I'm not willing to say that the Bills are in Buffalo to stay. But I think the odds of them coming to Toronto are less than either them remaining in Buffalo or them going to some other US city.

The NFL is a tv contract-driven revenue model. Putting a team in Toronto doesn't help that.

If, and it's a big if, the NFL wants a team in Toronto, it will figure out a way to lessen the burden (i.e. discount the relocation fee). They also could wait until the lease is over with. If the Toronto group does end up buying the team, the Bills will still be here for the next decade. It's after that which becomes unknown.
- buffalofan19

Figure they will go else where with the team. STL looks to be on the move as well as JAX will be sold again eventually.

Have a feeling there will be more of like an NFL 2. That will have teams form Mexico/CA/SA/ Canada that will put teams in these cities. I know it sounds very similar to the world league and failed but maybe these wont be as much of a financial burden. Soccer stadiums are in place in these places that could house teams.

I'm not quite sure how I would feel if Pegula owned both the Bills and the Sabres. For many years there was this separation between ownership of both teams, Wilson on one end and the Knox brothers on the other. Both teams had their own identity from that standpoint. It would just seem kinda odd that one guy will own both.
- mhp

the Knox brothers were class act, never put a bad product on the ice and never afraid to make changes to try to get the team to the next level

aside from 8 year run with Kelly, the Bills have been mediocre at best once O.J. blew his knee out.

Peggy got baptized this past season as an owner and I think he will put the right people in charge to run each team moving forward

no time soon, the arab has big pockets

he just built the largest jumbotron for the jaguar stadium and put in pools for babes to be in swimsuits on high levels at the game.

I see him maybe having 2 games a year in London or some other market but the team will be in Jacksonville for many many years

That is correct...NFL does not allow it. NHL doesn't care, but NFL you can only own another team if its in the same city/region

True, but you would think the lure of big money in Toronto/LA would interest him greatly. Eventually there will be greener pastures.

Is he doing this for the Jags or for a bigger Cocktail party

The Athletics have acquired ace pitcher Jon Lester from the Red Sox in a deal that will send slugger Yoenis Cespedes to Boston, a source told ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes.

The Athletics also will receive outfielder Jonny Gomes while the Red Sox will get Oakland's competitive balance draft pick, according to the source.

My favorite line:

Things could change, but they're up against a guy who has two nickels to rub together.

One for each Buffalo franchise.

Love it

Frankly, I don't believe the Toronto market is that much in love with the Bills. There is a base here, no question, but I think they would be better served trying to procure an expansion franchise that the locals can call their own. Leave the Bills where they are and create a new identity for a Toronto NFL property.

He could technically move one of the franchises as long as he didn't move one of them to a market with a competing team of the other team...IE could move the Sabres to Las Vegas and still own the Bills.

But lets face it that is not gonna happen
