well, you had about 4 sarcastic responses to me and none of those times did you actually read what I initially said, perhaps next time you'll know better

We haven't discussed PK's Defensive game yet.
His offense is elite, but his defensive game is no where near elite level.

Hmm, Maybe 5 mil is reasonable for him...

I don't think he is better than Holtby and Pavelec is a stretch, but yes, he is better than whoever is the Oils goalie and yes he is better than sclerosis goaltender.
- soad_live

and Buffalo.

Pavelec is horrible....just brutal really. Holtby??? Well they seemed to be going all out to try and find a replacement for him last year.

Meh...he's a below average starter but a great backup.

Edmonton has FAsth and Scrivens who both had pretty good years last year.

I just don't get how the 7 game Bruins series is one of the best things ever, 2nd best thing to winning the Cup, which is a direct quote, but...

the 6 game series vs the Rangers is a "small sample size"

- jimbro83

You're doing the same thing. You're basing your argument that somehow McDonagh has somehow become "as good" as PK offensively on the MTL-NYR series but fail to explain McDonagh's disappearance in the finals. While McDonagh is better than PK defensively, no way is McDonagh "as good" as PK offensively, totally different skillset and only a handful of players can rush the puck up the ice like PK.

Alright, let me break it down on the real for you.

Beating the Bruins is the second best thing to winning the cup to Habs fans because we hate Boston. If there's one thing a Habs fan could ask for apart from another Stanley Cup title, its the satisfaction of knowing our team was responsible for decimating the hopes and dreams of the Bruins' and their fans.

The series with Boston doesn't have anything to do with a sample size, or being used to declare how good a given player is.

We are arguing that Subban is better offensively, because he has proven to be since they both came into the league.

Subsequently we argued that stating McDonagh "Has become" as good offensively because he put up better numbers in the 6 game series between the two teams is foolish.

McDonagh didn't disappear in the Finals, he had 1 goal and 3 assists in 5 games and had a direct shot off the post in the game 5 overtime.

Kings were an extremely tough team, but McDonagh didn't disappear whatsoever

Why? There are plenty of players who have a far better skill set at one end of the ice than the other, and make obscene amounts of money.

No I merely stated that those two had good years because we were discussing goaltending in Edmonton and its reasonable to think they will go those two to start. You sir are affected by pre mature posting and may need to see a doctor.

Yep, they all signed their contracts before cap went up, TV deals signed, etc. Figure it out... Crosby is the best player in the league, but guys are going to be making more than him by the time his contract is up.

McDonagh's early career stats wise was stifled by playing under Torts system. He took off offensively all season under Vigneault and will only get better.

10 points in the conference final for McDonagh, 2 points for Subban. It was a monster 6 game sample size for McD no matter how you cut it

Scrivens still played really well after coming to Edmonton and Fasth was injured for a lot of it but still played well once coming over. I have always maintain that I thought Scrivens would be better then Reimer over the long run.

Do you have any idea who Subban played for before Therrien? Martin makes Torts look like an offensive (frank)ing juggernaut!!!

McDonagh never played the powerplay under Torts, Subban has been feasting on the powerplay since his first game in the NHL

I am not saying that is anyone's fault, but you guys are comparing their entire careers offensively, when I am telling you Torts had McDonagh on a total defensive leash and didn't let him go

And I'm telling you Martin had Subban (and everyone else on the team) handcuffed to the goal post. I'm sorry but any argument about systems during their first years in the league is a non-factor. Jacques Martin is the Anti-Christ to scoring goals and offensive zone play.
