Let's be honest, he's a decent side show but we're wait for Jsaq and MJL to continue their stat discussion. It's the summer of discontent.

All the core pieces to that team are there.

Dump Chris Kelly to EDM for a draft pick and their in good shape. They have a lot of guys in their pipeline to fight for ice-time like Spooner, Knight, Florek, and Khokalachev.

I think them, Tampa, and probably the Pens are early favorites in the East. Flyers are certainly in that top 4-5 team mix with the Rangers and probably Montreal.

- mochoson

I don't think it will be easy to dump an injury prone bottom 6 forward making 3 million.

I agree about Tampa and Montreal, both made quality moves this off season. Tampa will be very dangerous with the addition of Garrison and a healthy Stamkos chomping at the bit. However, I won't be surprised if Stralman stuggles.

I think Bruins, Rangers and Penguins will both be worse. Playoff teams no doubt but not favourites.

Teams have interst in most of the phillies. RAJ is asking for the moon for these guys. Teams don't know what he's doing right now. Outside of the Astros, the phillies are the biggest joke among rival executives.
- PhillySportsGuy

Ive followed the Phils thru thick thin since the early 70s but if Amaro remains GM following this season, Im done with them!

I'm never going to just throw them away but I have never been more apathetic about a Philly sports team in a while. Maybe those Sixer Iguodala teams but even those made the playoffs some years

Outside the first 7 games of the season which were obviously a disaster, the Flyers had a pretty good record all things considered, and lost in the playoffs to the Eastern champs. Why are they supposedly this borderline team that has gotten worse and will have no younger players step up and be better than last season?

Pretty big if, considering their history over the past 2-3 seasons.

Our defenders 2-7 are better than 2010 2-7. Pronger was a HUMANGUS BIG piece.

All the young players will be in the AHL at least for 3 seasons. A couple are so young they will be in the CHL. Most were poor picks. Giroux is in his late 20s and is breaking down due to the way he plays the game. The Schenns are what they are. Vincent Lecavalier.

Again, I dont like the mixture. As individuals they all have something to bring to the table......
- GOA88

I certainly agree about the mix issue. But saying they suck is innacurate in my opinion. If they get the proper support, the Flyers defense is a solid group.

I've seen one dimension out of the Blues since his tenure there. Defend, defend, defend.

Dinosaur can go suck some ass juice.

- flyer_nutter

That's not true at all with the Blues. They were one of the top scoring teams in the League last year, ranking 7th overall in goals per game.

I don't think they've gotten worse at all, it's just the teams in the Metro largely got better. But regardless, you're right, they took the Eastern Champs to 7 games. Plus, they have a full training camp/preseason with Berube which I think will pay dividends. And maybe I'm being optimistic but I think Mason will improve on his very good season or at least stay the same. I think Schenn and Couturier progress and increase their point output. I like that they also have versatile guys like Umberger and Raffl who can play all over the lineup. They have good replacements if and when injuries occur. It'll be a dogfight for the playoffs but I think they'll be a lot more consistent than they were last year. The season can't come soon enough, I'm starved for hockey.
