And no one thought the Devils defense was any good when Bryce Salvador was their top defenseman. If they team plays a system where they function as a 5-man unit on the ice, the defense is good enough. If you want to hang them out by themselves, they can be exploited.

We don't have a #1, but 1-7, they're probably middle of the pack in terms of total defense.

Again, I dont like the mixture. As individuals they all have something to bring to the table......

Our defenders 2-7 are better than 2010 2-7. Pronger was a HUMANGUS BIG piece.

Just to keep that hate train going.

We all know that the firing of Carlyle is probable if the season goes awry. Eakins is a possibility as well.

Assuming the Sharks and Blues get knocked out again after hopes of big seasons. Do we see a change in the guard with respect to Hitchock and McLellan?

Don't imagine too many other coaches being on the hot seat.

Won't make any significant trades. Maybe he deals bastardo.

Probably
Though you'd think some contending team would have interest in Byrd

Yeah, if St Louis doesnt reach the finals I think Hitch is toast. FWIW, he just seems to be the type of coach that players just start to tune out after a few years.

Teams have interst in most of the phillies. RAJ is asking for the moon for these guys. Teams don't know what he's doing right now. Outside of the Astros, the phillies are the biggest joke among rival executives.

a lot of things are worthy of forgetting in the 80s, like parachute pants and almost single vehicle.

i am only aware of 2 poop goals in the 80 final; the potvin high stick in the first period, and of course the gilles offside. what's the other?

i never really think about the 87 cup and losing having to do with the coke situation in edmonton. the only one i'm aware of being outed was grant fuhr, but there are probably others. i'm not sure that was a benefit for them. perhaps if they weren't doing that, they might have dispatched the flyers in 5.

either way, it all (frank)ing sucks.

The other illegal goal was the Nystrom OT goal which was offsides according to several Flyers players.

The Oilers players should have been suspended and jailed not competing, and if I was betting on which of the other players dabbling it would have been the guy scoring the killer goal in game 7 who also had someone die in his pool over the next 2 years adn went through some weird divorce stuff as well.......

I've seen one dimension out of the Blues since his tenure there. Defend, defend, defend.

Man, when I think aggressive, attack driven hockey I throw the Hawks out the window and think St. Louis Blues. A D first team? No way.
