Pouliot might be destined for a 3rd line role as hes gritty, but can be maddeningly inconsistent offensively.

But I think that some tend to not realize how skilled this guy is. He has great hands and can skate.
Im not saying anyone's wrong for thinking pouliot shouldn't be on the first, but as far as pure talent; he certainly has the skillset to not drag down linemates of a higher caliber

I do think pouiliot on your top line is a bit crazy, but who knows could work. Guess is its no different when McGinn moves up to play with Duchene and ROR when injuries happen.

But guys like that are best suited for 2nd and 3rd line minutes. Stretching him out like that might not be ideal. I still think you are 1 player short. draisaitl should really go back to juniors unless he is the best player at camp. Bring in another C at camp to battle for the 2nd/3rd line spot with Arco

Hall, nuge, eberle
perron, ????, yak
pouliot, arco, purcell
hendricks, gordon, pitlick

i have no problem sending ld back to junior. I just dont think we're gonna have much of a choice if mact cant get a deal done.

I also think BP is certainly more talented than jamie mcginn. Hasnt proven that hes unequivocally better, just has more pure talent imo

We'd be wild not to at least invite Loktionov to camp.

Also, Stars have 13 forwards, 5 dmen and two goalies signed, so 2-3 more additions (Brenden Dillon and Cody Eakin are RFAs). They have 5.3 in cap space left. I'd love a look at Eakin.

Been saying that too. Now that we have some bigger bodies, maybe a bit smaller of a centre won't be as bad. Regardless, he's an ok nhl centre that adds depth

Watched a lot if him as a hab. One of the most naturally skilled guys in the nhl.

apparently had some strong possession numbers while with the Devils.

Loktionov agent is Larionov, same as Yaks. Could be what kills that deal since Lari was pretty vocal about Yaks role last season

definitely really skilled. Great hands and speed, but I just don't see him doing well matched up against top line players.

not sure about talent with mcginn. Definitely a better defensive game

strong possession numbers against pretty weak comp. Need someone that can handle 2nd line match ups so Draisaitl/Arco can succeed against lesser comp

McGinn is a bull in a china shop. When he tries to play the soft touch game he coughs up the puck. When he plays north and south, hard to the net (has a pretty decent shot) he really is effective. A poor mans power forward. Ideal for 3rd line match ups. but can play Top 6 for shorter period of times in a bind

I like him. Seems like a 2/3L tweener like Pouliot. Maybe can handle tougher lines, but more one dimensional.

Hes a tweener for sure, but hes a mucker. If he keeps on playing that game and just skates hard to the net and mixes it up he will have a long career. If he gets all Tucker like he won't last long (thinking hes more skilled than he really is after putting up a good season)

no way the move Eakin. Plus they have to do something with Peverley, not sure if hes medically cleared to play, so he might get LTIR.

Also I hope the stars sign Penner. Get the Horcoff Hemsky Penner line back together

- DDM-Coga

It'd probably be more successful as a veteran 3rd line than an upstart 1st line.

Hall - RNH - Eberle ( one of the best lines in the NHL )
Perron - Purcell - Pouliot (Good line with size and scoring)
Yak2 - Draisitl - Yak (The Russian-German trio)
Joensuu - Gordon - Hendricks (A solid defensive line)

purcell isnt a center.
yakimov showed promise, but im far from certain he'll ever make an impact in the show. let alone start with edm this year. i feel like that 3rd line would get destroyed.

joensuu plays the way we need him to one or two nights every couple months.
im writing him off till proven otherwise
