Oh boy.
Cool.

But the "never fails" was referencing me having a typo or spelling error.

Frightening. PP1 - hell yeah (hate the Franson/Dion PP pair), but not vs the opponents top line all night.

word to the wise.... when a ref tells you to stop chirping with a poster.. dont make your next post one that mocks the poster you were chirping with

if you cant see why that is.. then there's no point explaining it

If Gardiner didn't venture into the offensive zone so much I wouldn't be as worried because he has speed to cover Dions gaffes on the blue line. The problem is that he is rarely there.

In their own end, that's a whole other story but hopefully if they are a pairing they get mainly OZ starts..

Well I think you need to get away from the Dion needs to play with a stay at home D mentality.

Also I assume the leafs dont play 60% of the game in their own zone again. Which means less DZ starts for them.

Based on some of the stuff I read about Dubas and how he worked with Keefe on different zone exits/entries things should be different. (after they fire RC)

It is what it is for now.
Hopefully Gardiner improves his defensive ability...if not....RC is the coach....the lines will be mixed and matched all season long.

Im still hoping they make a trade for M Staal (dreaming of course)....but I wouldnt mind a Phaneuf/Staal combo.

However, I do feel Rielly could filling that number two spot in another year or two.

Am i the only one who thinks they maybe brought in Polak to play with Phaneuf? I always thought Dion would thrive next to a shut down guy

I'm actually curious if you think they've done enough.

As I've admitted (continuously), I don't have a feel for Robidas or Polak, but I'm not sensing that they are a significant upgrade.

I don't like the idea of Gardiner-Phaneuf. I just don't.

So based upon absolutely nothing, my wild prediction is that it will be Phanuef and Robidas to start.

It's the meaningless discussions in July that unite us all.

He does need to solidfy this aspect of his game... but turning himself into a stay at home D would be a waste of his offensive talents imo.

That's an absolutely terrible idea. Just brutal.

Gardiner will play with him. Defense isnt an issue if you aren't in your zone.
