He didnt play with Kostka or Holzer all last year.
So Polak is actual NHL caliber ....but Gunnar isnt?
Robidas is only slightly better than both.
Phaneuf simply cannot play 25 mins a night....he needs to be cut back to 20 -21. - Fakepartofme
kostka and holzer were before, last year it was mainly gunner.
and sorry, let me rephrase for dion's haters.
dion will suck, he will play worse with gardiner or robidas
polak will get sooooooo much ice time with dion its outrageous!!
robidas is 19 years old and has 0 experience |

Holzer and Kostka did not play for the Leafs last year - MTL1
lol it was a joke, considering dion has played with either AHL players or #5d man in gunner for his career in TO.
but god forbid we took any of that into account. |

Ah I thought it was next year because of the original bridge contract. Regardless, its clear he wants big money and wants it now - markmark
Subban's agent's argument.
Two RFA years - 7 milly each (given comparables like Karlsson)
Six UFA years - ?10 milly each (given comparables like Weber and Suter)
Strong argument for 8 years and about 75 million (about 9.5 / year)
The Habs won't mess with this asset. If it goes to Arb and he signs a 1 year deal it gets really trickier going forward. They'll posture until the 11th hour and get the best deal they can. If you're Subban and you like it in Montreal then he'll take term rather than risk an injury or sub-par year. |

And how he will play at the end of his contract. Didn't he sign for like 3-4 years?
But on the short term, it's an upgrade for sure. |

you are correct - but the leafs did not address finding him a good partner this offseason - so 1 more year of carousel type partners |

According to Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, the Canadiens submitted an offer of $5.25 million on a one-year contract, while Subban's camp is asking for $8.5 million. |

Ya.....you need to relax.
Again, I like Dion....just overpaid and overplayed.
Needs a quality 2nd dman to make him look better...or to help carry him.
Cause its obvious that he cannot carry someone |

They said they had somebody in the org. to play him - it's Gardiner. That tells me they're going to 'deploy' Dion a little different this year. Use Gardiner and Phaneuf as the offensive pairing. Having a partner that can skate/pass the puck out of the zone will help Dion a lot. |

5.25....are the Canadiens drunk?
Althought, I get they have to submit a low ball introductory off. |

im relaxed, saying "i like dion" doesnt mean that you get a free pass to say stupid things.
polak vs gunnerson?
yeah, thats a worthy debate, and guess what, polak is a third pairing D man, just like gunnerson, difference is, leafs wont be playing polak with dion.
either gardiner or robidas, both upgrades over gunnerson or kostka/holzer. which is my point, but i guess that was hard to grasp.

gardiner will be his partner.
phaneuf will continue to play his off side.. not focus on scoring (leaving that to gardiner) and be the responsible in his own end d-man
robidas and rielly will be the next pairing
franson ((frank) me trade this tool) and polak will be the third pairing.
