I don't agree that his value increases all that much or his play gets all that much better. He is already top 5 in the league.

Yeah this kind of scares me also. We obviously want to see him continue to improve and break out a little bit this year ... but man that is gonna end up costing us.

I actually am wondering if pitching is really the Jays Achilles heel anyway.

I'm not saying you're wrong at all. But 5/25 is a nice cushion to use to take er easy. His bridge made him bust ass to get the deal he will get now. That's all I'm saying.

Would not surprise me. I have always wondered about his attitude and I am sure he thinks he didn't deserve the tough love early in his career.

I would be happy to see him leave if they could deal him.

I am hoping they deal him before this season actually.

I'd love him to stay. I watched his whole JR career. Met him so many times, and he is as cocky as the media paints him to be. But the skill he has, when motivated, is awesome.
He reminds me of Rob schremp in the laziness, cocky sense. Grant you, Kadri looks to have a nice career ahead of him if he keeps his head clear.

They better not give up any of their top pitching prospects whatever they do. But I think he'd be a good pick up as long as they could extend him.

With the increasing cap and how drunk the GMs get bidding on July 1 - Subban would have fetched Kane/Toews $ if not more

The optics of the bridge contract execution did not look good but after watching the first 2 years unfold it was the only move to keep him long term

I can't confirm that, but whenever he had public appearances with the Knights, he always looked (frank)ed up
I'd only imagine that having access to more money means access to better drugs
