While I'm on, my two cents about gardiner deal. Not much to argue. Slight overpayment for first year but if he continues to progress should be great value for most of term.

I like it - it tells me that the Leafs mngmt is committed to playing better possession hockey. Gardiner and Rielly are going to get bigger roles this year. No more chip it out and hope for the best. Instead, get it to the skilled guys and let them pass/skate it out and keep control.
