Franson, and best, (frank)ing anything, should never be said in the same sentence. All last year we had Robin Steele try to convince us to build a defense around Cody Franson.

ya i gotta agree. not that i think Komarov was a bad signing. but i just look at what guys like Winnik and Santorelli are getting on the open market and i ask, who the (frank) was Nonis bidding against?

Does anyone remember when Komorov first came to the leafs 2 years ago.. People didn't know really who he was.. I didn't really either.. As much as I watch N.A hockey. I don't really follow KHL.. I was kind of disappointed when I looked at his stats in the KHL and thought.."good luck in the NHL budd" he won't even make the team. I then watched a special on tsn introducing each team and their newly aquired players. When it got to Toronto it started interviewing players around the league asking them "what do you think about playing against Komorov". Every single player on every team wasn't happy about it. They said he was a animal... That every time he was on the ice.. He was all over them. He got 5th place in hits in the entire league 2012/2013 season, on the 3rd line!!!!! I'm not saying he is an amazing hockey player.. But, there was something missing last year.. He was part of what was missing... Sometimes it's not about points.. It's about gaining momentum and finishing checks..
Especially on 3rd and 4th lines

He accepted my trade proposal of Franson and 21 (Gauthier) for 7 (Nurse, which I would have used for Ristolainen but that's unimportant) on behalf of the Oilers.

There's a reason Vancouver is consistently a top 3 city in the world. Toronto is nice in different ways. People here hate it because of the Leafs, but that's just a dumb reason.

Comparable... Phaneuf is more physical but I would gladly exchange 120 hits for 130 fewer minutes of dumb penalties.
