It says a lot that they had to go to the brink of arbitration to get Franson on a 1 year, yet happily gave 5 years to Jake.

The Franson issue would have been better dealt with before last year. But I'm guessing they free up space somehow. Have to have 2 mil so they could pick up a player making 6 plus at the deadline...

Minus a few players not going to make it, Orr, Smith and one more, then subtract Franson possibly, you gain some back.
