Think it's FRIKIN HILARIOUS!!! I really don't care if this guy is any good. Just want him gone!! Can no wait to see him fall flat on his face and be the towel boy for Jimmy in Florida in a few years.

Hayes has every right to do what he's doing, he's operating 100% within the CBA so best of luck to him. Losing Kevin won't have a big impact (if any) on the Blackhawks so it's nothing to lose sleep over.

We signed college free agents like Carey and TVR for nothing so we can't really complain about losing a college prospect for a second round pick.

Is Hayes any better than Carey?

I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy had some sort of influence over Kevin.

How was he "mistreated?"

The kid couldn't stay on his skates if you hit him with a feather. Slow. Almost completely non-physical at 6'5", a black hole with the puck.

Spoiled. Both of them.

Don't know about the inner workings of the minds of either of them, but why (based on the evidence) is Kevin spoiled?

He played by the rules - 4 years in college - breakout senior year - months/weeks/(soon) days away from free agency - why shouldn't he take advantage of being able to choose where he goes? What are the Blackhawks offering that is better than what the Avs, Rangers, or any other team going after him aren't?

And if it turns out that one of his reasons is how the Blackhawks treated his brother - however right or wrong that perception is -, he's still only exercising his free agent rights.

We need to stop acting so spoiled by thinking the Hawks were/are the only right choice for him - he does have the choice.

Look, clearly, he HAS a choice.

The actions and words behind the choice reflect a couple of spoiled kids. Sorry.

Hello people.... its July , usually dobt have time to visit HB in the summer but....

(frank) The Haye's ...

Everyone here in Chicago wanted Jimmy Hayes to be good. Everyone. Everyone wanted Jimmy and his huge body to bea physical net front presence that could hit and fight and score. Jilly Hayessucks at NHL hockey.... Kevin aint poop . The Hawks will be better off with that second round pick in 2015 . MFer hasnt even played one shift and he wants to know what his clear path to the NHL will be ?

Kevin Hayes has the right to walk good for him . The Hawks will be compensated and Neither Hayes will probably ever get their name on the Stanley Cup .

(frank) those guys and their feeling. This is professional sports. Grow up.

Apparently . . . because his brother was mistreated(?)

Further, defecating in a stairwell, etc. There's at least one fact there, probably, two, to support my opinion.

Regardless, you want to be free to have an opinion, which apparently you do, allow the blogger to have one, too.

Who of us has not been overcome by the kicking mule? I applaud the originality and support your opinion to have an opinion.

Now that Hayes's fate is caste, I am afraid the next level down is to discuss the potential changes in organization zamboni drivers and beer vendors. We are near the bottom....Not a knock at all to you JJ, just the reality of what is left to be settled by the club at this point.

So is the worst example of immaturity you performed between the ages of 17 and 21 lesser or greater than pooping in a stairwell? The difference is a rounding error for most of us on this board. Saying a 19 year old exhibits immaturity is like saying a 10 month old acts like a baby. My wife wishes I would show the maturity of a 19 year old most days. (and the stamina, I suppose, but that's another matter altogether)

You certainly are allowed an opinion - I've never said or implied otherwise - and I don't know if - in this case - it's right or wrong.

"Apparently" is not a fact, and "defecating in a stairwell" is a sign of immaturity - like some of the actions of a certain Blackhawk star at the same age (22 or so).

I also don't really care that much: he's going to be someone else's headache - or solution.

No one paid me $900,000 a year when I was 23 either. To whom much is given, much should be asked.

My strong sense is these are a couple of spoiled kids. Sue me.

Spoiled, or entitled? Just from talking too and hearing from others who have talked to a few players in Rockford last season it seemed like there were a few players who thought they deserved roster spots with the big club - just for showing up.

Your thought on the similarity between Hayes and Skille? Seems the entitlement class is in full force with these guys. Wow!

Off topic but is Terry Broadhurst not with the Hawks organization any more? I saw on twitter that he signed with the Chicago Wolves.

He was a minor league UFA that the organization decided not to bring back.

Who cares what the reasons are. He doesn't want to play for the Blackhawks. He is an UFA now. And most don't think he will amount to much. So why still complaining about him not signing?

Life will go on. Because he won't be a big loss, right?

Then could there be a problem with Rockford's - or Chicago's - development team that couldn't turn these players attitudes (or that we're enabling these attitudes)?

Or with the scouting system that doesn't do a good enough job at evaluating the psyches of 17 year olds (ages noted to indicate that I know how chancy that can be)?

Maybe they need to implement Jerry Krause's aptitude tests before drafting.

This Hayes situation is unreal. This kid simply wants to go somewhere where he doesn't have to fight for a roster spot and not have one simply handed to him.

I have a very strong suspicion, at his age, had he come into camp and earned himself a spot... he'd be on the opening day roster. He's simply not choosing that route.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out kid.

Wrong. If there was a spot there for him, he'd play in Chicago. But there are no available spots for him, unless he came in and beat out 5 or 6 quality players for a center position, who are just as good or better than he is.

In that order. I'm more interested to see where Patrick Lalime and Reinhard Divis end up.
