Reading the title I was wondering if something went down with Vinnie L.

I like the prospects, especially the D.

Speaking of VL, will his situation become a distraction for the team this year?
Once a team makes it public they are trying to trade you and then the trade doesn't happen, well it is not the ideal situation.

I guess if they get off to a good start then it won't be discussed as much, winning fixes a lot of these situations. Potentially it seems like it could be an ongoing story.
VL is a real pro but this has to be tough for him.

I made the same mistake in reading the title.

It'd be great if Hextall can grab some more picks, considering 2015 is considered a fairly deep draft and the Flyers don't currently have a 2nd rounder in that draft. I'd like to see Hextall sort of try to do what Clarke did in the late 1990's, where it seemed that every trade saw the Flyers pick up a draft choice.

Grossmann for a 2015 2nd during the season once one of the young guys in Allentown has shown they are ready. Alt, preferably, since he's the oldest and most experienced. That would give us eight picks.

I realize that this is very silly, but I don't like Nicolas Aube-Kubel because I don't like his name. I hope he becomes a 50-goal-scorer for us, but I just don't like it. But it would look great on the Stanley Cup if he helps the Flyers win it.

He might be the forward that the Flyers have most successfully developed through their farm system in the last 20 years, given the body of Prospal's NHL work.

I'm not counting those guys that the Flyers drafted and went right from juniors to the NHL or even guys like Richards and Carter that played in the AHL because of a lockout.

I'm referring to guys they've drafted and let cook in the AHL for a bit.

Its interesting that samhein or however its spelled us higher then morin who was taken much higher and in a considerably deeper draft is that because after a year in the system morin didn't take the next jump in his devekopement as thought or is the other guy actually better despite being picked later in a weaker draft just curious lol and I usually like to keep up on the prospects of the teams in the division and I enjoy your work bill!

The more picks the better, I totally agree with you. Though this team IMO can contend IF we can get another Dman. Hey, we were one win away against the Cup finalist's. We can't be that far off? Anything can happen in playoffs. I am really looking forward to see what Laughton can do and if he can become our next " Richards"......on ice of course!

Contend for what? The Flyers were pretty badly outplayed by the Rangers in that series except for game 6 and a few minutes here and there the rest of the series. The Rangers in turn were pretty badly outplayed by the Kings in the finals. If the Flyers are serious about winning the cup and not lucking into one by getting in the playoffs every year, they need to start comparing their team to the giants out west, Chicago and L.A. Under that comparison, the Flyers are a long long way off from contending and any one defender, even Weber isn't going to change that.
