HE CAN RETIRE, HE ISNT GONNA PLAY AGAIN,WE ALL KNOW THAT
- cscbloggin

Why would he retire, if he retires he doesn't get four mill per year. If he doesn't retire, he gets paid. No brainer for him there, and the bruins are doing the right thing by not pushing the issue. We all know he's not gonna play again, but who is gonna turn down 4 million a year.

That article you cut and pasted was from 2011, so the "last year and this year" you were referring to was 2010 and 2011. The only bonus they have THIS year is Iggys. They cannot put Savvy on LTIR until after the season starts, they have to be under the cap WITH his salary on the books before they. Thats why the only way they can get rid of that is by trading him.

Im just bitter at the team, Ive been following them since the 80's and last years performace in the playoffs took me for a trip down the " not so memrable lane ".....my origanal intent here was to fire things up, and by no means would I like to see the Bruins blow things up. But I do think they need to make a big move or two and get something out of a couple players before they arnt worth much anymore.
Chara isnt getting any younger and I think we could get some talent out of him still, by trading him. Am I the only one who sees how often 33 is on his ass or knees? He can be on the ice for 25 mins a game but be on his ass or knees for 10 mins of that time. Bergie deserves the "C" imo.....
I LOVE THE LITTLE BALL OF HATE but im not sure he will ever be back to what we saw the first couple of years, I hope Im wrong, but also willing to gamble if the right deal came up.....
Krejci needs someone to make him look good and who can play the roll of getting in front of the net so he can feed it to them. Hopefully Lucic will UP his game and do that for him. Eriksson has been a complete bust imo and I feel that trade was awful, but maybe a full year with Krejci and Lucic might work , who knows. He had better keep his chin up thats for sure, his body isnt take that punishment to long. Our D is young but I feel we have a good base there, Seids is Healthy, Boychuk is a machine, Krug is impressive, McQuaid ,Hamilton, and of course you cant leave out Chara's rocket , long reach and big body

yup would have like to have seen Chara resting a few games down the stretch. Last two years he looked tired in the playoffs. With Sieds out their options were limited, they failed at the trade deadline, but obviously couldn't take a multiyear contract from anyone.

He and Julien love the vets. I think it's a weakness to be honest, they are too reluctant to let the kids play.
And instead way over pay for vets like pevs and Kelly. It's like to opposite of billy belicheck. They need to understand talent and when a player is made better because of the system. Although, **cough cough! billy really messed up on welker.

When they are forced too, look what you get, krug, miller, smith, even Bartkowski.
Problem is that we have a huge bottleneck and can't trade anyone because half were injured and half are young and haven't been given a chance to play.

I dunno, seems to me Lucic, Marchand, Krejci, Krug, Hamilton, McQuaid, Boychuk, Smith, Soderberg and for some reason Caron have all been given ample opportunities for ice time and development under the PC/Julien era.

Lucic, Marchand, Soderberg and Caron yes I agree but not so much about Krejci, Krug, Hamilton, McQuaid, Boychuk, Smith.
Krejci needs to pick it up i do agree on that but he wasnt a non-impact player, Krug could arguably be our best d-man over-all last year. Hamilton is finding his way, and to early to give up on him. McQuaid was hurt, Boychuk is a machine and Smith was arguable the best part of the Seguin deal aside from Seguin that is

what?

he was making the point, to someone else, that they do play the "kids" when warranted. and listed those guys, hamilton included of course, as examples.

seriously though Double A is one of the more knowledgeable B's fans on this site so he'll win any debate you want to have with him.

Not how it works. Guy put his well being on the line and will never be the same again. He was huge in turning around what was a shameful excuse of an organization. He deserves every dime, from Jeremy Jacobs, Delaware North...whatever.

Also dude.. I hate Ulfie too but man let it go.

Most of those guys have been in the league for how many years now?

Let me put it easier for you. We have had very little turnover in our foward group for years.
And keeping players like pevs and Kelly with the money we gave them for the third line is a dumb move.
Krug was forced into the lineup two yrs ago in the playoffs after an injury.
Not by choice.
Smith was moved up, and thankfully so, due to an injury.

And Hamilton was arguable there best d man after Chara last year. IMO.

Point I'm trying to make is that we have no idea how good koko and spooner and Florek may be in the nhl, but we are all assuming they will just jump right in an fit nicely on this team.

And why is that? Because we had to play Thorton, Campbell, Kelly, etc.

Would have liked to see spooner and koko center the fourth line, maybe with Florek on a wing for a half dozen games last yr.

What would we have had to loss, the presidents trophy? Who cares.

Marchand 5yrs. Bergy 10yrs. Smith 1.5yrs
Lucic 7yrs. Krejic 7yrs. Horton 6yrs.(before he arrived here) Iggy 16yrs

Those four Marchand, Bergy, Lucic, and Krejic were given a chance on fourth and third lines and are now considered our core.

My only problem is who s the next Marchand? Who is the next Krejic?

Why has it taken soooo long, five years, since we have had a young impact player?

Either we are not giving guys a chance OR we are not drafting and developing top six talent very well. (Seguin and Hamilton were impossible to miss on draft picks in the top ten, everyone of the other 29 teams would have taken those players at those spots.)

That five years is my sticking point. That's all I am trying to say.

And why is it that RW is like our SS for the Sox?

I'm pretty sure that the teams have insurance on there contracts in case something like this happens.

So I bet the bruins aren't even ponying up most of the money.

But I agree with you. He should just sit back and collect.
Imagine if he was still on the team? The guys was a 70 -to- 100 pts a yr guy before the injury. Not as good a two way player as Krejic but a lot move vision and passing like Adam Oates used to.

They moved our right wing third base?

Theres a plan in place... no one gets promoted ahead of Caron
