You. just. said "I love Savy and It wasnt his fault but its time we cut all ties with him, lets face it he isnt gonna play again".

The only way to "cut ties" is to buy him out. The Bruins cannot do that.

Who said buy him out?????
Salary that stays on LTIR does not count against the cap for normal accounting purposes, but it does count against the cap for performance bonus purposes. This is why the Bruins faced a cap penalty last year and again this year.

- cscbloggin

Are you trying to tell us that Savard is collecting performance bonuses? Is it the point production or the games played limit that he's reaching? The only inconvenience with that contract is that it can't be buried until day 1 of the season. I wish the NHL would let the bruins buy it out. Its no ones fault except matt Cooke, and to a lesser extent Matt Hunwick Its not as if the dude got shelved with nagging groin injuries.

If the B's do get Hayes, the could role into the year with this lineup

Lucic Krejci Loui
Marchy Bergy Smith
Koko/Kelly* Soderberg Hayes
Paille Spooner Fraser

I'm diggin that look

*If we don't move Kelly we all know he'll see significant ice time and slow down Soderberg in the process. He's the got glue factor I guess. Suck it up and dump his deteriorating ass. If not I will track the number of glittering chances that any AHL scorer would bury that he misses throughout the year. I'm betting on around 15.

You guys have been a real thorn in our side this off season

Marchand + Boychuk for ROR? Could imagine him and Bergeron together?

nothing but stick lifts and takeaways all game. Its not the worst deal, but I really want ROR to stick around long term, he either signs an extention next summer or will be traded for max value.

Bergy ROR as your 1-2 punch would be crazy since Krejci is a UFA after this season.

Not sure how the Avs become one of the front runners, but maybe the chance to paly th the young core and learn from Iggy is luring him. Im sure Roy and Sakic dont hurt either.

you guys are messed up, Boychuk isnt going anywhere and why would you want to dump McQuaid? Have you all forgotten what a machine this kid is. If your gonna dump anyone, Erikson is the biggest plug in the league, if he doesnt learn to keep his head up in the East Conf, he is in for some major headaches and can sit along side Savy. I love Savy and It wasnt his fault but its time we cut all ties with him, lets face it he isnt gonna play again

We can't keep all the d men we have. We need to trade some pieces.
And to keep all the older guys you would have to sell off the younger players and that would seem kinda stupid in the cap era.
Chara, Seindenberg, boychuck, Mcquaid.......
Hamilton, krug, Bartkowski, miller, joe morrow, warsofsky, etc.

We need to get younger on the back end and with all the young nhl ready players we need to give them time or we will never know what we have.

THINK ABOUT IT. Who the hell was krug before an injury to the big club and we gave him a shot? And we called him up earlier in the season but didn't know what we had until the playoffs after an injury and he HAD to play mins.

Who the hell is Miller? We called him up after the Mcquaid and Seindenberg injury and he has look like a champ! So much so that we signed him to a one way deal. Hard hitting stay at home. I've said it before, he will be the German hammers replacement.

Hamilton had his growing pains his first yr and I remember guys calling in on weei saying we should trade him. Now after two years there is no doubt that he will be a top elite nhl d man. He is the next she weber.

Bartkowski has more upside than Quaider IMO, but is a different type of player, he is a hybrid between krug and Mcquaid. And he played a lot of big mins last year and still needs a a couple of years before he is a top four d man. And he will be a good top four.

We need to let the young guys play of how do we know what we have!
You need a good young crop to compete in the cap era boys!

Could we make Marchand a d man and have him be our p.k. Subban instead of trading him?

Or we could really throw the league off and have a bunch of AHL players and a one yr nhl vet from the Swiss league play as our centers for lines two through four!

I don't see chia adding any more forwards to the mix, and I think they already have an idea of whos playing where.

bottom 6 will likely look like:

Kelly-soderberg-spooner
paille-campbell-fraser
caron

I just wish there was a way to get rid of that disastrous Kelly contract. Seriously, wtf was chia thinking here

He and Julien love the vets. I think it's a weakness to be honest, they are too reluctant to let the kids play.
And instead way over pay for vets like pevs and Kelly. It's like to opposite of billy belicheck. They need to understand talent and when a player is made better because of the system. Although, **cough cough! billy really messed up on welker.

When they are forced too, look what you get, krug, miller, smith, even Bartkowski.
Problem is that we have a huge bottleneck and can't trade anyone because half were injured and half are young and haven't been given a chance to play.

Chara can go, Marchand,Lucic, Paille, Campbell, Soderberg,Kelly, Caron ... just to name a few....I hope im wrong but we didnt lose last year just because Seids was hurt, we had no production at all from out top guys..Smith was our best player and wasnt even slatted to be a high impact player
- cscbloggin

This guy clearly didn't see Bart on the ice. Out of position, picking up the wrong man, ect ect ect ect....now I;m not gonna say the B's would have beat the Kings, but 7 game series against montreal, couple of OT's... if just 2 of those dozen plus posts went in, the Rags wouldn't have made the cup finals.
