Thank you. Just read about it. Amazing..

So it's just Kenny Morrow as head scout and Bossy (ticket sales) left from the dynasty years. Ohh and Butchie announcing.

Trott's was in such huge demand it took him how many years to get a coaching gig after getting canned by the Rangers less then a year into his job?

too bad for him but it was pretty obvious to anyone watching him that he was made for the late 90's style of clutching and grabbing, when defensemen didn't need to know how to skate.

From what I just read he didn't want to coach, he came back for Ted Nolan. Wasn't he employed by the isles as head of player development?

Lets go easy on the Trottier chirping....the guys got 7 Rings. Why the hate?

Who is chirping him and who hates him? I just asked a question and Trots the coach has nothing to do with trots the player. Perfect example hate Goring as an announcer, loved Goring the player. I have no problem separating the two.

Your questioning of trots being fired and getting another job was a bit contentious.

I don't hate Goring as an announcer. So what if he says wrong names and sounds drunk.....it's entertaining.

Any question on here is valid. I just took it (perhaps incorrectly), as contentious.

Love Trotts and the guy has had some tough times after retirement, but he was an awful head coach for the Rangers. Almost as bad as poor John MacLean for the Devs in 2010. Or, to put it on even stronger terms, worse than Cappy.

Btw, the Dan Petriw comments section is in the goldilocks zone for Isles commentary.
It is filling a much-needed niche in between the pitchforkers of IBP and the carebears of LHH.

Agreed. Said many times before there's the right mix of opinions here. I like the articles at both IPB and LHH, but IPB is depressing in the comments. And yeah, LHH is a bit too:

It really is sad. He's passed up the opportunity to shoot right down a clear lane so many times to make that one extra pass that just destroys the offensive momentum. I don't think he realizes that even if he doesn't score, it may result in a rebound that someone can bang home.
- eichiefs9

So true. And shockingly he has an amazing shot too. Why he tries to pass all the time is mind boggling

here's two major differences between Okposo and Bailey - Okposo scored 19 goals his rookie year, he was also much more active and aggressive on the puck even when he wasn't scoring, he just didn't seem to have enough balance to go into the corners and come out with the puck but the effort was there.

Bailey's career high is what, 13 goals? Bailey also doesn't show anywhere near an acceptable level of drive or determination.

Can bailey put it together? It's absolutely possible, but if I was going to bet money on it I'd have to see a serious bump in his work ethic on the ice and a desire to go into the dirty areas of the ice. He's not showing that. He's not showing any desire to shoot, prefers to make a pass almost all the time and frankly there's far too many games where he's completely unnoticeable. That's unacceptable for a forward in the top six. I'd only play him on the third line because he'd be a waste completely on the 4th and the only other place for him is in the AHL and he likely wouldn't clear waivers.

At this point, someone's gotta get moved and I'd prefer to keep Grabner over Bailey. Cappy doesn't give Grabner enough ice time or opportunities but his speed is lethal, he's good on the pk and he has scored 30 goals. Much more upside to keeping Grabner and if someone has to go, Bailey's it. He could very well break out somewhere else but if it happened, I wouldn't be shedding any tears over it.

Bailey's issues are all mental and I don't expect our coaching staff will ever be able to get him over that and he's clearly not able to get past it on his own.

I'm perfectly fine with moving him.

Yes but bailey was 18 his rookie season. Kyle okposo was 21

Bailey's problem, as I see it, and as I've said before, is that the aspect of his game that doesn't improve is his decision making in the offensive zone, especially when he has the puck. He hesitates for that extra half second, and it renders him useless. My thought is it's his hockey IQ that is lacking, more than anything else, and I just don't have any confidence in that ever improving (see "Rick DiPietro" in your hockey encyclopedia). The best bet would be to have the coach scream, "shoot the godd*mn puck" in his face every time he comes back to the bench, until he just does it, and stops trying to think. That said, if he doesn't do a 180 in short order this season, he's not going to have a spot on this roster for very long. You can't continue to leave bad players in the lineup when you have better ones.
