You unlock this door with the power of your fist. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of holding the boards for balance. A dimension of missed checks. A dimension of record suspensions. You're moving...awkwardly...into a land of both lesser talent and political turmoil (the KHL). You just crossed over into...the Trevor Gillies Zone.

smart money doesnt make bets before all the information is available...i agree with dan, ill wait till the offseaon is over before i set my lines.

I think it's pretty obvious that if any trade goes down everything changes. I was basing MY OPINION on the information RIGHT NOW. As it stands RIGHT NOW there are too many forwards signed for Anders Lee to make this team.

Not so much in the NHL. I was a little disappointed in him to be honest. Orr whipped him pretty good.

Please don't discount the value of camp.. Like these deceisons are all ready made.. McDonald and or Boulton could easily be sent to bport and clear waivers. Let camp play out
- Dan Petriw

I'll give you one thing......you're def a glass is half full guy. I've listened to capuano say the best players will play for years now. It just simply wasnt the case. Maybe you're right......maybe this year camp will be different. But if I'm seeing a trend here, it's def not that the best players will play.

His major disadvantage was his skating... even holding onto another body, his own punches would throw him off balance.

the Bailey bashing very reminiscent of the view on Okposo 3 years ago.

its doesn't click for everyone immediately but when it does its great. I think we all agree that Bailey has the skills to be great player.

Bailey had confidence, he was captain of his Junior team. As bad as we all say, he always seems to wind up 4th or 5th in points on isles every year.

What better player to pay than with Tavares. Give the guy a shot. Instead of Cappy asking him to go dig in corners. Give bailey a shot in the SLOT early in season instead of waiting till end of season to do so.

- Spartiarti

here's two major differences between Okposo and Bailey - Okposo scored 19 goals his rookie year, he was also much more active and aggressive on the puck even when he wasn't scoring, he just didn't seem to have enough balance to go into the corners and come out with the puck but the effort was there.

Bailey's career high is what, 13 goals? Bailey also doesn't show anywhere near an acceptable level of drive or determination.

Can bailey put it together? It's absolutely possible, but if I was going to bet money on it I'd have to see a serious bump in his work ethic on the ice and a desire to go into the dirty areas of the ice. He's not showing that. He's not showing any desire to shoot, prefers to make a pass almost all the time and frankly there's far too many games where he's completely unnoticeable. That's unacceptable for a forward in the top six. I'd only play him on the third line because he'd be a waste completely on the 4th and the only other place for him is in the AHL and he likely wouldn't clear waivers.

At this point, someone's gotta get moved and I'd prefer to keep Grabner over Bailey. Cappy doesn't give Grabner enough ice time or opportunities but his speed is lethal, he's good on the pk and he has scored 30 goals. Much more upside to keeping Grabner and if someone has to go, Bailey's it. He could very well break out somewhere else but if it happened, I wouldn't be shedding any tears over it.

Bailey's issues are all mental and I don't expect our coaching staff will ever be able to get him over that and he's clearly not able to get past it on his own.

I'm perfectly fine with moving him.

But also dont discount the mindset and poor decision making of our Coach and the flawed system they preach.

part of me wonders if Wang pulls the trigger to sell as soon as he sees the annual November tank.

If they somehow avoid that, I bet he turns down the offer and keeps the team.

I'm not serious, just messing.

I am really hoping they don't do that this year! If they do then Cappy better be thrown out on his behind long before they lose 10 in a row!

Even if they do have that typical 10-20 game tank in Nov/Dec, does Capuano even get fired? I mean think about it seriously....

"We told you after the first 3 times you lost almost 20 in a row, if it happened again.........that 4th time losing 20 in a row really put us over the edge.."

Can you post a link? When did this happen?

Just read about it. Always amazes me how many ex dynasty guys aren't involved with the isles.
