Nelson, Strome or Lee. Bailey is like having a cardboard cutout that doesn't go to the net. - Isles_since_6
how do you know this? have JT and Bailey ever been put together before? |

Yes, in the playoffs against the pens. He wasn't bad, but my god bailey is not a top six forward right now |

I think everyone on here agrees that Bailey has had more than enough time to find his game on the isles.
Perhaps Bailey would benefit from working out with JT in the offseason. Every year Tavares comes in that much better... |

it might have something to do with JT being a world class talent and not the special workout regime that so many people think is the answer to everything... |

Yes Tavares is a special player, but this is professional sports. Dieting and working out are very important. Before this takes a turn into I have no idea what you're talking about town......my point was, perhaps Bailey would benefit from whoever JT was workin with. Whether it be power skating, or simply shooting, whatever Bailey is doing in the off season isn't working.
Didnt Okposo work with Tavares' skating coach? |

That has a lot to do with it. What makes him special as we all know is his drive. Competitiveness. Thats what seperates these players. Bailey lacks it. Work out regimens wont change that. Bailey's got the talent his issues are all between the ears. |

I'd be willing to bet that baileys same lack of heart in his game also translates to his training. |

Perhaps Bailey needs a change of scenery!!!!.
Many people tired of seeing him! Houdini would have a hard time making Bailey reappear once he disappears! |

I think his commitment is every bit as responsible as his talent...probably more so...for how good he is. He IDs one thing he really wants to work on, and he comes back with that part of his game as a strength rather than a weakness by the next season. I don't think there's an overabundance of players with his dedication. |

Altho the least likely, i wouldn't mind if they looked at Bailey with JT in training camp a little bit. Yes his exposure to the top line was the minimal sample of the playoff series, but i thought he played very well. I don't think Bailey has the ability to raise other people's games but he's not slow and we have all seen the soft mitts on this kid.
If his issue is confidence, then why not put him with the 2 best people where it will rub off on him. All that being said, last years disastrous season may have ruined any shot of getting top line minutes.
Seems from Capuano interviews that Nelson is the incumbent and yes he played very well for USA, but regardless look at what we're doing.
We are talking about SEVERAL players who are talented enough to play with JT and debating who should get the shot. Grabovski can also play the wing so there is another guy who could be there.
This is the best roster we have had since the 2001 season, i am so pumped for October |

Bailey shouldn't get top six minutes unless he actually plays well enough to earn them. Until then he's third line at best. I'd like to see him succeed but he doesn't deserve to play top six minutes. Not even close. |

Bailey has seen time on the top line numerous times over the years and failed every time. Enough with that crap! Send him elsewhere or send him to the Bridge. I've seen enough of his lazy a$$ .

Dan Petriw: Time to Shine - Dan Petriw
They have a legitimate problem to solve with the abundance of forwards. I think you could slot a number of different players on 1st line. Beyond that, they NEED to get reliable 2nd line production but are also developing two 1st rd players in Nelson & strome. It wont be beneficial to be buried on a checking or sparingly used 3rd or 4th line. |

Strome and Nelson need to play top six minutes, and have Lee on the third line with Nielson. Bailey or Grabner are likely on the way out unless they put Lee in Bridgeport. |

JT became a better skater in his 3rd season by leaps & bounds. Skating is all legs.
Aside of Grabner no one on this team is a beakaway threat. They could all get better. If I were making $3+ mil a year and I had josh baileys season I'd be embarassed and lookkng for anything to turn it around. Almost everyone in the nhl could improve their skating. |

I agree but also think Lee has earned a spot and plays a role on the team no kne else really owns. |

Fully agree, I don't want to see him in the ahl. I think Lee could be a kid that plays the left side on the top line but if he gets at least top 9 minutes I'll be happy.
Nelson JT Okposo
Kulemin grabovski strome
Lee Nielson grabner
That's an excellent top 3 lines. Each one gives you a mix of elements and all three should score regularly this season. |
