If they are dealing Kadri it would be for E.Kane. I don't see anything else work.
- JVR_42_PK81

Then we are short a play making centre, a position the Leafs have struggled with for a long time unless Nylander comes out of nowhere. That trade makes no sense to me, we don't deal unless it is another winger for a winger (plus).

It looks like he gave up Clarkson too.

Salary dump, a backup goalie, a young center who the Jets dont really need and a Dman who cant play defense....

Okay.

Thanks guys! I do think that if Booth can stay healthy and play like he did before he gets injured, he can help the leafs more on a second line than Clarkson.

I was happy when I saw the our first game was against the leaf, always a good way to start a season witha big game versus an all time rival!

Wait so you got Kane and the Jets best goalie prospect and didnt give up at least Kadri or Gardiner? Franson and Reimer wont get that deal done
- DDM-Coga

It always makes me scratch my head whenever the Leafs make a solid depth move, the number of posters that start taking it to that next level pitching these crazy trade rumours. It's pretty obvious to me that management wants to see if this core is as bad as it was last season, or as good as it was in spurts last season and during the lockout season. They're gambling that the big issue with the top 6 forwards was that they were overused because the bottom six was terrible. Likewise on d, they're hoping that shifting guys to their proper sides will payoff, and that kids like Gardiner and Rielly will take steps forward. None of this is some sort of set up for a big trade.

Lupul, Kadri, and Franson for Kane and Little
- jbold

No way, after the recent moves and change in culture/accountability do the Leafs then move for Kabe. It looks as though they are making moves for solid dependable professional guys. They cannot make a move for this (frank)wit

With Clarksons contract we'd take pretty much anyone over him. Unless we figure out how to bring back Kovalchuk to the NHL.

lol, experts dont necessarily write this stuff on HockeysFutures.

Most of this crap is from people who are in their early 20s trying to get gigs writing and scouting

Of course, if we do end up with a guy like Evander Kane, our line up could end up being

jvr bosak kessel
kane kadri lupul
booth santorelli clarkson
komarov winnik kontiola/frattin

Phaneuf Gardiner
Rielly Robidas
Granberg Polak

Bernier
Hutchinson

- RileyHaze

You do realize if the leafs get Kane...which they wont...but if they do....Kadri is going the other way.
Reimer and Franson.....arent going to do it.

I want to keep Holland, I see lots of potential going forward after seeing him in the AHL playoffs.

edit: I never use hockeyfutures as a reference.

Winnik's one-year deal worth $1.3 million. Nice signing for the Maple Leafs.

I say he's closer to a 2nd line center ceiling now. But I do think he's done all he can at the AHL level and it's time he gets a real shot at the third line spot. There will be times when kadri struggles or bozak struggles, the PP struggles, I'm sure we'll see Holland up on the top two units. But odds are he'll avg 16 minutes a game, playing the same role that Bolland did last season to start the year.
