The turn over is so great that it could be a train wreck with no chemistry, it could be a great success or be average, it is a wait and see.

Don't know the system or how the players take to it either, but experts already writing death certificate on leafs season.

I don't get why people are upset that we are getting good bottom six players on good deals. Would they prefer we gave them multi year deals?
- Yeti1181

I am completely ok with the short term deals and low cap hits. If the intent is playoffs, awesome !! I think there is more to it than that though. hoping that all the stars are in alignment.

Kulemen...really?

He'd be great at the right price and less expectations

- Garnie

Nah, I just wasn't a fan of his. I hate watching guys with ability do nothing. Like nothing at all. I can't think of anything he did offensively or defensively for so long now. (admittedly they are more on the Leafs). I don't mind poopty players giving their all, and not achieving anything. That's the coaches problem, not theirs.

If we play the same systems were going to have a bad time.

best off season the leafs have had in a long, long time.
great low risk, high reward players like Booth along with a few character guys like Polak, Robidas and Winnik......
several good short term deals and not one bloated, ridiculous contract.

Also, love the retooling of the management team.

the team was never going to be bad enough to aim for a top 3 pick, so they might as well push hard to at least compete.
...and with some of those additions, they should be a harder team to play.

Just by looking at those weight numbers - once could deduce that gunner could probably skate much faster than a guy who weighs 40lbs more

you never know I guess...If we have the same start I don't believe this new team will collapse like last year...but BB didn't think we be picking 2nd when he traded for Kessel either...any team can falter with the parity in the league I believe. ( might be a couple exceptions obviously )

this is going completely over your head isnt it? The leafs needed help with their bottom 6. They brought in Komarov,Kontiola,Frattin,Santorelli, and Winnik. Everyone and their mother would agree that their bottom 6 is improved, especially a 4th line that can now play more than 5 mins a game.

Great teams need depth too, and we picked up a few guys who were valuable to their SC contending teams (Robidas,Winnik,Polak)

I like the leafs more this year. top 6 is the same, but we let go of a few guys who wanted big money (13 mill for kuli, raymond, and bolland) and brought in some guys who will have to battle to win a spot

- GardinerExpress

Not over my head at all. They have done just enough to say they have improved on paper. If only 1/2 the new signings play well or better than expected than its a success. Injuries or average performance could easily lead to crash and burn. Including bernier.

Agree! it was sickening watching our players get thrown off the puck with one hand and watching the opposing team coast through the neutral zone and enter our end with ease then cycle the puck for two minutes, wear us down and score a goal on their sixth shot of the posession. That pretty much sums up last season, not gonna happen too often this year
