Marty likes to chime in, he is really a good guy and does talk hockey. He never causes me any problems here.

I don't get why people get so defensive over a very, very simple, hockey related question.

Sensitivity is pretty high around here. You made a point, a lot of centres but no true #1. It has always been a problem for the Leafs and the Habs as well.

I only see those two choices, PK is still to raw for it, imo. Maybe in a couple of years.

Montreal is kind of in the same boat.

With Plekanec, Desharnais, Eller, Galchenyuk, Malhotra.

I'd like to see Galchenyuk play center...

Yeah it is what it is... these guys don't grow on trees. And they don't get traded very often either.

Sundin was a true #1.. So it hasn't always been a problem. I think all this talk about what a team needs is a little overblown. Sure, Bozak doesn't produce as much as other top line centers around the league, but he fits well with Kessel so what would you rather do with him? Leafs score plenty of goals so Bozaks offensive production is hardly an issue.

After he left. we got the winger but not the centre.

The only other team without a true elite #1 that won the cup is the Bruins.

Palmy grew up in my neighbourhood.

So did Dan Hill.

Whenever you got a text book in junior high school, the first thing you'd do is check if it had a Palmy or Dan Hill autograph in it.

Me neither ...back to your question though - Winnik is a winger (mostly). Leafs still don't have a lot of quality down the middle. Bozak, Kadri, Holland and Kontiola.

You need to go to Wikipedia and add some stuff about Palmateer. That's a sad looking Wiki page.
