Leafs would need to give up Kadri, Gardiner, + 1st to get Kane. - Scooby_Doo
I find it amusing how many Leaf haters consider Kadri a scrub because of the jersey he wears. He was drafted the same year as Kane and only three spots later. Over the past two seasons, Kadri has scored at a .74 point-per-game pace compared to Kane's .66 pace.
Yes I agree Kane is worth more than Kadri as do most people, but the difference is nowhere near as large as people make it out to be. I remember 2-3 years ago Brayden Schenn (also from the same draft) was considered the best prospect in hockey and Kadri was considered a bust despite putting up similar numbers in the AHL/NHL at that point. Kadri has established himself as a legitimate scoring threat out there and there's no reason to believe he won't be a consistent 60+ point scorer for the next 10 years.
Remind me what Kane's done to get to the level that would fetch Kadri, Gardiner + 1st for Kane???? Yes he scored 30 a few years ago, but as of today I wouldn't rank him much higher than Kadri based on current numbers or potential. Adding Gardiner and a 1st on top of that....dream on! |

Marty in Wash would be a DISASTER - TheJerseyDevil1
Unfortunately, I think Marty anywhere is going to be a disaster based on the few games that I watched him play. He's looking slow.
Does he have alimony payments to make or something? There has to be a reason he isn't calling it a career. |

Kadri's a good player. I think a lot of the "bust" talk came about because there was a period where his work ethic and commitment to making the NHL weren't there. Skill was never in doubt though, and now that he's on track he should be the player they projected when they picked him. |

Seriously? You really think the Leafs are going to pull off a deal with WPG for Kane? With what? The Jets will only pull the trigger on an over-payment and by doing so it is a lateral move if you have to deal guys like JVR, Gardiner/Rielly or Kadri - especially when you consider the glut of players the Leafs have on the wing this makes even less sense as a rumour...my source is called common sense. It is a very powerful tool. - Deeps27

kadri is no scrub..........i just can't stand his attitude. I would however, keep him over kane (better player but a douche) but i'd still take brayden schenn over kadri. Kadri would get more points but that's all he does. Brayden plays a much more complete game. |

Reimer kadri for Kane and a mid pick is as high as I would go. - JVR_42_PK81
Look E Kane hit 30 goals once, he has personal or attitude issues or whatever it is and he has yet to consistently live up to his potential.
If you match up him and Kadri stats the last 2 years, which are Kadri's first two full seasons, Kadri is the better player. In the long run I bet on Kane but Reimer helps balance the 2 out.

Not sure about that. Washington improved their D in the off season, if the forwards commit to team defence Brodeur could do well. Question is who would be starter. Brodeur or Holtby? |

The Leafs are not deep enough at C to trade a guy like Kadri unless another C is coming back. Period. Nice player (Kane), doesn't fit the roster for this stage of team development. |
