"Yes, I myself am getting tired of writing about the Maple Leafs. While rumors in Toronto always exist i have sort of prided myself on being very picky when it comes to weeding through the many, many rumors which surround this team."

would you take a lie detector test, I think you love the hits

Leafs would need to give up Kadri, Gardiner, + 1st to get Kane.
- Scooby_Doo

Gzuz, you are a fool. Kadri gets 10 more points than Kane and we need to add Gardiner and a first? You haters are ridiculous. Kane is so overrated its ridiculous. I'll offer Lupul and Reimer and leave it at that. Anything more and he's not worth it. Next.

The Leafs are not deep enough at C to trade a guy like Kadri unless another C is coming back. Period. Nice player (Kane), doesn't fit the roster for this stage of team development.
- Deeps27

While i agree...Nylander, Holland, Santorelli, Winnik, Booth, Komarov, and Kontiola might disagree. But that said, i wouldn't trade Kadri for Kane. Screw that. Kane is a one dimensional player. Skate forward, shoot from the top of the circle, dump that puck, make a hit, and thats it. Kadri is way more creative, makes his teammates better, and isn't a head case.

My insiders said to me that Bernier is no where near close to being ready to go for next season. And that he might miss a significant part of the year. If we just dress Reimer for the first thirty games, Eichel is ours.

Bernier is the future of the Leafs, no way they rush him back too soon. Only thing that would mess up the one year TANK strategy of Lieweke/Shanahan and puppetis(Nonis), would be the return to top form of Gardiner, Lupul and Frattin. Something would have to be done, at that point to get back on track for last place overall, or second last place. Buffalo should also be in full on TANK mode this year as well.

Lieweke alone, forgetting Shanahan, knows the importance of high draft picks, and despite the phenomenal talent on homegrown players on the Kings, none of their homegrown players, save Kopitar, holds a candle to the potential of either Eichel or McDavid. These are big, large, franchise players.

Hopefully no one on this forum is silly enough to think that Lieweke and Shanahan are not aware of what securing one of these players means to the Buds in the next three to five years.

Your insiders sure provide a lot of info while pouring your double/double.

In fairness, they did end up getting a package with one of the top five goalies in the world, to go along with another top fiver in lack.

I agree, this is getting a bit much...something has to give. EK has kept eluding to Leaf moves, but they haven't been active on much other than adding 1M depth players!

Not sure if any deal for Reimer or Franson will yield much more than another depth player or pick, so why keep this up! There would have to be inclusion of a roster player (i.e. Gardiner, Lupul, JVR, etc.) to get something of substance. Until EK can bring us one of those I will be watching for MLB trades (this week at least).

Eric Staal went in for surgery yesterday to repair a damaged core muscle.

Hopefully they removed his vagina while he was in there.
