Stats are similar, you're right. For me, Kane has everything Kadri is missing though. Talented, quick power forwards are in demand and are a rare breed. Given the opportunity, I'd pick Kane.

This doesn't take away anything from Kadri's abilities. It would be my personal choice.

I think centers are harder to get then a power forward.

We are not moving our 2015 first in a draft that is suppose to be deep as all hell.
- jake24242

I know but do you think the 20th overall pick will be as good as Kane?? We are pretty stocked at hopefully for the next 3 years .. Nylander Leivo gauthier brown Finn? I'm not saying mcdavid wouldn't be great... Do you honestly think with the lineup we have now.. With evander Kane on our 2nd line.. Wouldn't be a true playoff contender in 2015?

"Yes, I myself am getting tired of writing about the Maple Leafs. While rumors in Toronto always exist i have sort of prided myself on being very picky when it comes to weeding through the many, many rumors which surround this team"

Really? There has been nothing but leafs articles this summer

My insiders said to me that Bernier is no where near close to being ready to go for next season. And that he might miss a significant part of the year. If we just dress Reimer for the first thirty games, Eichel is ours.

Bernier is the future of the Leafs, no way they rush him back too soon. Only thing that would mess up the one year TANK strategy of Lieweke/Shanahan and puppetis(Nonis), would be the return to top form of Gardiner, Lupul and Frattin. Something would have to be done, at that point to get back on track for last place overall, or second last place. Buffalo should also be in full on TANK mode this year as well.

Lieweke alone, forgetting Shanahan, knows the importance of high draft picks, and despite the phenomenal talent on homegrown players on the Kings, none of their homegrown players, save Kopitar, holds a candle to the potential of either Eichel or McDavid. These are big, large, franchise players.

Hopefully no one on this forum is silly enough to think that Lieweke and Shanahan are not aware of what securing one of these players means to the Buds in the next three to five years.

In fairness, they did end up getting a package with one of the top five goalies in the world, to go along with another top fiver in lack.

A washed Olli Jokinen is his most common linemate over the past 2 seasons at 5v5. Specifically last year, the most common guys he played with were Scheifele, Jokinen, Setoguchi and Frolik.

What would you suggest his numbers would look like playing with Kessel instead?

What about JVR away from Kessel and with Jokinen/Scheifele/Setoguchi/Frolik.

Honest question, assuming both play 82 games.

I say this because most Leafs fans consider JVR to be a 1st liner.

- Nucker101

I will argue JVR is a first liner with anyone that wants to look stupid.

In the past two seasons they've had 6 of the top 5 goalies to have ever played in the NHL.

Anyone who thinks this Leaf team has a shot at 30th overall is on crack. Even with Reimer all season there's no chance.

Other teams would give similar up or more. A second line Center, a second pair dman and a 1st. For a 1st line power forward.
- Iggysbff

Other teams will not give up the value of Kadri, Gardiner and a 1st.

Kadri is a second liner who outscores first liner Kane.

Ever notice how speculation is always higher than the actual trade? Check out what the return of Spezza and Kesler was thought to be. The Rick Nash trade rumours before he was traded was hilarious.

Yeah, a team with a goalie playing poorly putting up .911 s% doesn't get close to last.

People only remember Reimer's last couple of weeks. This idea of him being some terrible goalie is ridiculous. He somehow has a .914 save % in his career in Toronto under Wilson and Carlyle.

You just said it we have Levio he could just as good as kane and he needs to play top 6 id say so why trade for a guy that takes that spot away. Rather keep drafting and develop our own guys. And i do think the 20th pick could be as good as kane next year if it all pans out.
