if the leafs trade Reimer who is the backup? - senstroll
Doesn't matter! We also have no goalies in the system that will be ready for ~5 years, but let's trade Reimer!
Woooooooooooo!

I think any thoughts of Ladd, Kane, Buff, Bogo need to be put to rest. Reimer isn't even close to that.
Even the next tier of Little, Wheeler, Ellerby are probably out unless Leafs add some.
Schiefele is 100% off the table. Like immediate "hang up the phone" territory.
I think we would be looking at Michael Hutchison and MAYBE a 2nd rounder (probably a 3rd) for Reimer. May as well keep him in that case.
Just my $0.02 - TheThrill
We couldn't get Ellerby who signed a 2 way contract for $700k for Reimer?

Because of it being ripped up they split the 510 route meaning you essentially have to walk from College to Queen to catch the other leg of it instead of simply diverting the route.

Quick question since you're in Brampton...
O'Malleys still exist at the 4 corners? The old Irish pub on the NE corner in that 300 year old cop hall.
Drank there many a time in the 90's and was the 1st time I did karaoke.

Fleury doesn't get nearly enough credit for the bounce back he had last year. put up really solid regular season numbers and had identical numbers in the playoffs. he is far from Pittsburgh's biggest problem. |

And reimer is far from the leafs biggest problem...i dont (frank)ing care who your goalie is, if he's facing 40 shots every single game in game out, the team will not last in the victory column. This is a defense system issue, not a goalie issue FFS |

Triple Bingo
I have never seen a Leafs team as incapable of clearing the puck out of their own end as last year.
The so called compete level to win those battles to make the defensive play necessary to get the puck out was just not there.
Doughty made the comment the Leafs were easy to play against because so many guys cheated to go on offense. Until that changes I can't take the team seriously.

for sure. Reimer was in a tough spot there at the end. Bernier had completely taken over the starting job and from what i recall, Reimer wasn't playing much. all of a sudden he's asked to become the starter again and make 40 saves/night. i don't know how many goalies would have been successful in that situation. |

and he just signed as a UFA, the jets didnt even qualify him originally because they wanted a 2 way. His value is probably that of a 5th rd pick |

I'm thinking RC should go back to rotating like he did at the beginning of last year. It works, keeps them fresh, and limits the possibility of injury.

Be nice to get Sharp from CHI. They are in a tight spot salary cap wise. He would look good with Lupul and Kadri. |

well i think you need to see if the Leafs have tightened up defensively. if they're still going to be allowing on average close to 40 shots/night, yes you need to play your backup at least once per week or you'll simply wear Bernier out. but if the Leafs improve their defence to the point where it's not a nightly bombardment, i see no reason to split starts unless Bernier falters. he's certainly the more talented goalie. |
