System has nothing to do with it in the offensive zone or along the boards in the D zone, it was the failure to sacrifice or win the battle for a loose puck, the winger was there and lost the majority of the possessions for the puck, that has to change.

If you want to say it is a system issue that goes to positioning in all zones which is a separate problem but it is not when the player is there to compete for a puck battle, that is a one on one issue.

Agreed and as a coach I found it very difficult when athletes failed to compete. Doesnt matter the skill level and ability. System tactics etc.... when teams are fairly similar in talent the compete level is definitely the difference.

I think any thoughts of Ladd, Kane, Buff, Bogo need to be put to rest. Reimer isn't even close to that.

Even the next tier of Little, Wheeler, Ellerby are probably out unless Leafs add some.

Schiefele is 100% off the table. Like immediate "hang up the phone" territory.

I think we would be looking at Michael Hutchison and MAYBE a 2nd rounder (probably a 3rd) for Reimer. May as well keep him in that case.

Pretty sure Wheeler is the best player on the jets with Little being the 2nd best. They deserve to be in your first tier there
