It's not that they necessarily lost interest, he fractured his (frank)ing skull, he missed a lot of time. He's coming off a good year in the SHL, where his team won the championship and the Worlds where he played very well for the French team.

Obviously, the Flyers feel he can help them win games. Otherwise, they wouldn't have pursued him.

It's all included in the blog. Bill wrote an entire section detailing Bellemare's experience and play and what his strengths are. He's been a good two way player, works hard and is a good skater. He faces a bit of an adjustment, but he's held his own against NHL level talent in International tourneys and has been a good player in the Elite league.
