Can't say for certain if the team will be better our worse next season. I have no idea what to expect from the Leafs and probably won't until the 20 game mark. Which I'm looking forward to with optimism.

Agreed. We have no idea what system they will play or how it effects defensive play, or even offensive play.

If they've improved their defense(through players added and new systems) them the offense and goaltending should be fine enough to get them into playoff contention.

They tried to get Moulson. They couldn't. They did the next best thing. Get bargain players who could play that 2nd line spot while we wait for nylander, Lievo, Brown to jump in that spot. Why go out and spend valuable assets to us to get a E.Kane? It's a waste of time.

We had those needs when we were tied with you guys, in the 4 to 6 slot, before Bernier got injured. Now, he's healthy, we improved the depth, and skill level on our 3rd and 4th lines, and we replaced Gunnarsson, Gleason, and Ranger with Robidas, Polak, and Granberg.

Dropping the gloves gives you no advantage anymore, the NHL has made sure of that, so players like Orr and McLaren aren't of use.

As for who is going down to the minors, do you really think the Leafs are going to go with 16 forwards and 5 defensemen, like are listed currently at CapGeek.

Gardiner played the most es mins last year for the leafs, and faired well.

Watching TSN the reporters, and they are trashing the leafs like we aren't any better and we didn't make any changes, am I that big of a homer cause I totally disagree or are we actually still really bad?

I thought 50% makeover was pretty big and we have 4 lines of NHL depth just kinda feeling confused about all the analysis I'm hearings from the tv and radio guys.

Duthie didn't get a job in the hockey industry. He got a job in media broadcasting. He's the host and his job is to steer conversation and move the show along. He's never claimed to be an expert on hockey. He's also fantastic at what he does.

I think it's only natural and it's something you guys have to get used to in the next 2-3 months. Leafs issued the playoffs by 10 points and made no major offseason moves. Therefore the onus is on them to prove that they're a good or improved team. You're not going to see them fellated in the media because they added Santorelli and Robidas. At the end of the day it really makes no difference what anyone says, fans or media. It's all bullpoop until the puck is dropped.
