Closest omparable for Gardiner is probably Justin Faulk. Similar age/stats.

Faulk got a longer term deal, but the first two years of it were for $2.5 and $3.5 mill respectively.

If Gardiner signs a short term bridge contract, you could easily see him fitting in for around $2.8-3.1 million.
