I agree bickell is garbage in the regular season. He's big though and I thought we were trying to make the playoffs. That's all I want him for lol. Leddy has 31 and 37 in two full 82 game seasons. Tanev unfortunately hasn't played a full season yet and has 17 points for a high.
I love watching Tanev play. I doubt he will ever put up 30 in a season though. (I hope I'm wrong). we got rid of garrison, could use a scoring D. - manvanfan
Tanev is a decent player who is just coming into his own. But I can't see him surpassing Leddy - Leddy has quite a bit more talent, is a great skater and has excellent vision/offensive capabilities. That said, I would certainly love to see Tanev get to that level as well
Edit: one other factor as concerns Eller, and that is, he's dealt with some nagging injuries. And he was absolutely stapled by Gryba who almost took his head off. The fact that he came back a lot sooner than predicted was fairly impressive. More importantly, when he did come back he didn't change his game one iota, even though psychologically that type of hit and injury must be a big hurdle to overcome, at least initially. |

Just a couple of more Eller tidbits:
"His -56.41 Corsi was second best in the entire NHL among those who played at least 1.5 minutes per game on the PK, and the extent to which he pushed the puck up the ice from his measly 3.2% offensive zone starts is astonishing. Eller was also a constant threat to score while a man down, producing more scoring chances per 60 than any other Habs player while on the ice. His scoring chance differential was also better than any other Habs penalty killer, aside from the surprising Raphael Diaz. Unsurprisingly, Eller's risk/reward rating on the PK was higher than any other Habs player by a significant margin.
Lars isn't exactly a big shooter, but he could get there at some point. Currently he's still shooting nearly twice as often as Desharnais. Eller isn't shy about going to the net, but after having worked on his shot last summer, his wrist shot was a lot better this season and he also likes to shoot from the high slot, often picking a top corner. |

Bailey? - LeftCoaster
Can you believe he's been in the league for 6 years now? and yet he's still only 24? Man, did the Isles @#$#$ up his development, it's a miracle he's still in the league. Last year he finally made some decent contributions and production to the team (obviously nothing to write home about, but he looked good in the last few months of the year, so you would hope he's finally turned the corner) |

He needed more time in junior, still could be a decent player. I'm glad they picked McCann though. |

McCann will be a good hockey player. I listened to his Duthie draft interview. I think people are overreacting a little bit on his "attitude". I didn't get that. His tone was very good. Reminds me of a Bieksa type attitude. Nothing wrong with that. He is a kid I think we have a lot of expectations of these kids we need to let them be kids. |

Absolutely, I think McCann has generated even more excitement than Virtanen (of course, the latter is still rehabbing so hasn't really had a chance to show-off his skills/game, and thus has had a lower profile to date. |

Me thinks I'd take Duchene or Giroux (as they compared him to ) any day of the week. My faith in humanity has (although temporarily) been restored (ok,now we just need to get Honey Boo Boo of the air - even though I realize it's Yeti's favourite program
P.S. let's face it, there are at least 3/4 posters whose guilty pleasure is Boo Boo followed by "Say Yes to the Dress"
P.PS followed by extreme clown-mime porn (and no, I'm not saying there's any correlation between the three )
PPPS - where the f*ck did that come from? |

Find me a quote from someone who means something that this contract is bad. Please. - manvanfan
I am talking Dave Bolland not Lars Eller
Edit: I haven't seen enough of Eller to comment on 3.5mil but worst comes to worst that contract is not an anchor. 5.5mil for Dave (frank)ing Bolland on the other hand... |

So Botch says in his article that the Canucks had a deal in place to trade the 24th pick to the Islanders, I wonder who they were getting back?

Supposedly a 2nd and a 3rd? According to that video of Benning on draft day |

McCann seems like better value at 24 than Virtanen at 6. Kind of similar to Horvat/Shinkaruk last year maybe |

I agree. I love that pick at 24 (as most people seem to). It's great to finally feel excitement about our prospects |

Not interested in any player that isn't a regular season stud. If he can't help win a presidents trophy he's useless. |

Is it just good luck to pick a player late who fell from original rankings, or bad management to select a player that several other GM's passed on? Not judging, just asking for people's perspective. Kinda like Shinkaruk last year... |

Benning said some teams had called about McCann after they drafted him. I think if benning felt like McCann didn't want to be there a trade would have been made. |
