Schwartz looks good.
Guessing you would have to add a high pick too and maybe more...
I would really like to see our prospects like Shinkaruk with the big club before we trade them away. Schwartz looks like he will be a pretty good player, coming off a very good season of 25g and 31a, if he can repeat or better this performance.
I like Hansen, but would just as much like to see his roster spot open up for one of the prospects if they are ready.
If it was just Hansen and Shinkaruk, that would be a great trade for the Canucks. - hillbillydeluxe
Well St. Louis has about 2.7 mil in cap space. Schwartz is an Rfa coming off a 56 pt season. With them signing a bunch of players.

Not sure that would do it. Schwartz is one of the Blues most dynamic players and he's still very young. I could see him and Tarasenko forming a formidable duo sooner than later. |

I must've missed this? Surprised it hasn't been brought up yet, if true. Someone should ask him about it, I'm surprised he hasn't addressed it yet himself. - Nucker101

Plus Kesler autographed athletic boudoir life-size cut-outs for all (unless Nucker has bought out the entire stash already ) |

Great article....always good to have the core part of it out of context.
McCann left an awkward first impression at the draft when he told James Duthie "it is what it is" when asked how it felt to be a Vancouver Canuck—sounding more like Todd Bertuzzi than like Kesler.
The ACTUAL quote
“I never thought I would be a Vancouver Canuck, but it is what it is and I am very excited and very honored to be part of the organization.”
If in anyway that made an awkward first impression or even close to a bad attitude then someone needs to stop writing and change careers. That is why this world is so stupid, someone out there will always tag this kid as "having a bad attitude" for life because they read this garbage and has no intelligence to find out the truth. - Glak18
That's why I included the video with Virtanen's actual draft interview in this blog. I wanted readers to catch the tone and context for themselves.
I watched the draft show live and didn't twig to anything especially troublesome but as I alluded, "It is what it is" has dark allusions in Vancouver. Bertuzzi used to say that a lot coming out of the Steve Moore incident, so we're a bit touchy about that particular phrase.
The quote has been news ever since draft day, but it feels like the fan base is embracing McCann's aggressive spirit. All good here.

That's because 1) Carol is wake-boarding at Wreck Beach (Carol, did you happen to see Vantel in his shocking pink electro-powered speedos? 2) she's been negotiating with Ek to be the Toronto blogger (say it ain't so, Carol!) and 3) she's firmly camped out behind Trevor Linden's house to be the first on any breaking news (p.s. are all the rumours true, incidentally; namely, is there any merit that Linden has a wooden rocking horse resembling Kesler? )
Edit: ppssssst, do NOT tell Nucker no matter what |

Man, prison sure has changed! I remember we only had basic cable, limited wet-bar privileges, and occasional conjugal visits ($50/hour). Good times, good times, indeed |
