Subban asking for 8.5?
i get the feeling more and more that he's not going to sign for 8 years. more like 4-5. - DoubleDown
could be. either way as long as they can buy a couple of years of UFA then it means he's not completely turned off. |

Problem is, Moen and Prust don't take shifts on the top 6.
Pass on Penner, let the Leafs sign him for 1M. - fidopro
ah ok becasue they did and one of them probably will when Pacioretty can start the season and gets injured in time for CHristmas |

I would take Penner, only if you can rid of Bourque. Those guys are pretty much identical. - l3ig_l2ecl
yeah but with Penner, you're talking about 1 year at a nothing contract. if he doesn't work out, it's not like the deal backfires. |

i would take a flier (flyer??) on him if he comes at a bargain price ($1-$1.5 million).
we're very shallow on the wing in Montreal. - DoubleDown
Move that young tender for a winger.. |

Yup..
except PEnner can't skate, or drive the net, or stay healthy or even be streaky. |

i think he's good insurance in case absolutely no one is ready to jump into the lineup (Sekac, de la Rose, etc.) this year. - DoubleDown
I would prefer Bournival over Penner, even if he cannot score in a soccer net. |

I'd prefer Bournival/Andrighetto/DLR taking shifts as top 9 wingers if there are injuries instead of signing Penner... - BashCH
well Bournival is a 4th line player and the other two haven't played a single game. it's not like the habs have so much depth that they couldn't add a guy like that on a short, cheap deal.
he's not consistent but that's why he'd be cheap |

if it's a young guy who can play a top 6 role I'd agree but you don't stick a 5th line player on your top 6 as a fill-in just becasue he's young. |
