Our best wishes from everyone at HIO for a speedy and full recovery for Alex Smidt, a 13-year-old Canadiens fan from Regina who is battling bacterial meningitis.
Alex was rushed by air to Calgary Children’s Hospital recently and has undergone four surgeries. The teenager was wearing his Canadiens pajamas and shirt when taken to hospital and also brought a Habs flag with him.
Ian Cobb, a lifetime Habs fan who grew up in St. Lambert and now lives in Belleville, Ont., and organizes the annual HIO Summit in Montreal, made arrangements for Rob Hing and his wife Alayne – members of the HIO family who live in Calgary – to visit Alex in hospital Monday and deliver some Habs goodies for the teenager (photo above).

I hadn't eaten there for a few years. Decided to stop at the one off decarie (which I truly think is the worst of them all) on the way home from one of the Habs games.
I should have just taken my tray and dumped it in the toilet, saving my body from acting as a medium for what should honestly be an illegal act. At the very least they should put warnings on the food like they do with cigarettes. |
