I could see the deal being anywhere from 4-8 years.

If my boss tells me that I'm transfered downtown NewYork, take it or leave it, I put my keys on the desk right away... I choose my living environment and everybody else should be able to make that choice... proathlete or not

a player can do that too. he can retire from the NHL, and then he is free to seek employment with any other hockey league. he can go play in Russia, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland. don't say they don't have freedom because they do.
