Most NHLers that could score 30G in 40 games at the junior level aren't playing in the juniors when they're 20.

If bournival was a Juggernaut in Junior what does that make players like Kane etc.?

I have to admit, you really have to be a pure goal scorer to move ahead of Prust and Moen in the dept chart...

look, I said I liked the kid, but I just don't think he will ever be a top 6 guy in the NHL.

hahaha funny guys

you guys are talking like he will never do better more then what he did with only one full year in NHL... hes not a patrick kane...thats not my point.... but he have potentiel to reach a 2nd line and be productive...

the thing he is not playing on is good position... hes a natural center and they play him on wings.... hes in a learning process to play on the wing maybe too early to said but im sure he will put good points on board if they give him a fair chance...and this is not a couple shift with pleky rest of game on the 4th line... A TRUE chance !

You know the 2 players he played the most with during the season? Gionta and Plek. Not on the 4th, Gionta and Plek.
And during the playoffs it was Plek and Vanek.
So (frank) off with true chance bro.

He played entire games with Pleks and didn't manage to even look like he was going to do anything offensively.

No one is saying he's done and bust. He just isn't ready to play on one of the top 3 lines yet, it's a waste of a spot right now on a team that was struggling very hard to manage consistent offence last year.

He will never be ready to play top 6. And that's perfectly fine. Every players have pros and cons. His forte is speed and energy, not scoring goals. The list of players who scored more goals than him in junior and never made the NHL is endless, so it's probably fair to assume he's not here to score goals...

There's a long list of kids who should get a look on Pleks or Eller's wing at training camp before Bournival in my opinion. It's not to say that any of them are more NHL ready than Bournival, he's got good qualities to his game besides scoring, that make him valuable. But the other kids stand to be more ready/able to contribute offensively than he is.

Would you mind to list all those kids that are ready to produce at the NHL level please? Andrighetto maybe, De la Rose pLays pretty much the same game as Bournival and no one knows Sekac so i really can't see which kids you are talking about. Bournival will be on the third with Plekanec and it will be his job to loose. He will probably be nothing more than a 3rd liner and that's exactly what we want/expect him to be.

Andrighetto
Reway
Hudon
Sekac

& even Scherbak

Are all kids who I think could do more offensively then Bournival. As I said though, they aren't necessarily NHL ready, but I'd be willing to bet they could do more in terms of scoring than Bournival.

The argument was never that Bournival isn't ready to be on the NHL roster, it was that he doesn't have the scoring abilities to be taking up a spot on one of the first three lines.

Hopefully PK signs soon, if we could get him at a 7.5-8 million per year for more than 3 years that would be great.
