It's very average.

It could be pretty good with Galchenyuk at 70p.

But then you'd have to move one of Eller, Desharnais or Plekanec.

Personnaly I think Galchenyuk is a center and Eller a winger.

- Fredobbface

He has looked very, very lost when playing the wing so far.

Eller sucks on the wing.

Eller's stron gin the faceoff circle.

Give him decent wingers ( EGG line ?) and he might just get everybody on that line in the 50 points range.

He's played all his life at center, give him more time.

He's looked lost playing center at times last season also

um... not happening. and this is assuming he gets the 18-20 minutes a game he should be getting by now, which is far from a given.
- DoubleDown

I don't think it should be automatic in your mind that it's not happening. If Galchenyuk manages to force his way into the middle, it'll be to play in the top six, and the top six will get better if they trade one of Eller, Desharnais or Plekanec. I don't envision that necessarily happening out of training camp, but I can see it as a reality at some point this season.

Guy has the vision of M. Magoo with the puck. I doubt he can feed his wingers to that level.

Of course but to hope for 70pts or more is just silly at this moment.
- Not_Yan

Yes, if he gets 50 pts and 20 goals it'll already be a big step.

OOoor move Eller to the wing, and cut the he's lost on the wing part, he played like 5 games there.

The Habs collective group of forwards as we speak is not very strong. We need to add a top 6 forward who can pot 25-30 goals. This team is just a bunch of 2nd line players with an outstanding goalie and a super star d man who has not signed yet.

i don't question AG's ability as much as i question the role he'll be given by MT.

Eller was Horrendous on the wing. More like he played 10 + games there this season. He's nothing more than a 3rd line center who might score 40 points one year.

Well, I think it's pretty good. It's balanced. But it could be better if Galchenyuk can push through and be at least a 70-pt guy this year.
- EricEngels

It will not happen this year and I think you should lower your expectations a bit(for this year), you're setting yourself up for disapointment

I'm thinking the Top 6, Bottom 6 is becoming more and more obsolete.

It's more a top 9 and a checking line. If you look at the ice time Desharnais, Eller and Plekanec got last season (and in the playoffs), they were all pretty even.

Even strength TOI in the regular season:

Eller, 13:26
Desharnais, 14:22
Plekanec, 14:53

I think he's more of a puck hog than a Mr Magoo. Everytime they played together they made things happen.

If we really want to see Eller succeed... Moen and Weise shouldn't be his linemates.

only way Sekac scores 25 is if he plays 70 games in Hamilton.

His 11 goals in 47 KHL games should translate into 25 NHL goals. and 1 goal in 21 KHL playoff games

top 6 players get PP time and more talented wingers. there's more to it than ES TOI.

I agree with this, and I think this balance is one of Montreal's strenght right now.

Gotta take into account that Desharnais gets most of the powerplay time as well... Eller receives almost none.
