Just served a 5 day ban for trolling on the rags pg. Losers. A few threads back ppl mentioned recchi and sid having bad blood and I couldn't recall why. Can anyone refresh. Also wanted to ask gunner about the article about jim NILL talking about sport VU and his opinion. Does consol have them in the arena? - Jordy8
I'm fairly certain that all arenas are going to have it in the near future, by 2016 I believe. |

One of my best friends is a Flyers fan, and once we got over the whole Cindy Crybaby vs. 1975 aimless argument that was inevitably going to happen, we actually share some pretty enlightening hockey convos, probably more so than those we share with people out of our own respective fan bases.
Have to agree with whoever said it that the only real bad Flyers fans are Eagles fans that don't actually like hockey and are just looking for another reason to get rowdy. As a diehard Sixers fan, I can say that being a fan of a Philadelphia sports team does not make you a bad fan. Being a fan of a sports team just so you can have a semi-publicly acceptable reason to get belligerent is, and every team in every sport has at least a handful of those.
That being said, the Flyers are the second worst team in all of sports second only to Michigan - Victoro311

Doesn't make sense. I seriously doubt Kunitz and Hornqvist can play together. There's only one net, and two bodies constantly on it may do more harm than good. Plus, Sid becomes the only real shooting threat, which is not good. Give Geno a real trashman and watch that line produce. Jokinen killed it last year putting away the trash for Geno and Neal, and he's not even a real trashman. Horny's one of the best in the business. He needs to be with Malkin.
The top 6 should either look like this:
Kunitz-Crosby-Bennett
(unaquired winger)-Malkin-Hornqvist
or like this:
Kunitz-Crosby-Duper
Hornqvist-Malkin-Bennett
That gives you the best balanced top 6 playing style wise.
Speaking of unaquired wingers, Ek mentioned Marleau to Pens, so scratch that one off the list. In all honesty, though, how greatly would San Jose benefit from moving Marleau for Martin +? I know their GM said they were in a mini rebuild, but he also said they still have a win now mentality. I don't think moving Marleau for Martin helps them that much if at all. They have a pretty solid d core, I feel like if they move Marleau it would literally be for the sake of getting him out of the locker room, which I don't really get. Why is San Jose so desperate to change the air in their locker room that they're willing to take monumental steps back in their talent pool by trading Jumbo and Patty Mars? - Victoro311
Right. So, to be clear, I wasn't advocating that we put them together as much as I'm saying we should give Sid both of the best wingers. We just don't have the right skillsets to make that happen. Hornqvist could work with Sid and we know Kunitz works with Geno so I wouldnt rule that out either. I still have high hopes for Bennett.
Adding Marleau to that group, even at the expense of Martin and Sutter, would be the real shakeup to take this team over the top. I have been in favor of getting younger since the day we lost to the Rangers....but I can make an exception for a true star like Marleau. |

As much as I hate the Buckeyes (That '05-'06 Fiestabowl is still one of my worst sporting experiences to date) and Sparty (damn them and their crafty fake field goals) everyone knows that the Wolverines are everything thats wrong with college football. |

Question for all knowledgeable football fans:
In every NFL game where they (for some reason) let the starting offenses/defenses introduce themselves, it is inevitable that any player from OSU will say his name, followed by " THE Ohio State University," with crazy undo emphasis on THE. Does anyone know why? Do you really need to differentiate it from Ohio University? Even if it has "The" in the title, the emphasis is just silly. |

Ah my mistake. Now I get what you're saying, but yeah, even if the Kun and Horny are our two best wingers, we can't just throw 'em both on Sid's line because it doesn't make sense from a play style stand point.
And yeah, a Marleau trade would be great for us, just don't really see why San Jose would do it. When would Marleau come off the books? Two years from now? That's acceptable to me. He's old, but he's still playing at a high level and should continue to do so for two years. And if not, well, its just two years anyways with the cap rising. |

Its just what they call themselves. The one logical thing I can think of is that there's an absurd amount of OSUs in college football that all refer to themselves as "OSU", so Ohio State started calling themselves THE OSU to distinguish themselves, and when they say it out all the way, they still keep the obnoxious THE just because they're use to saying it like that. |

Yeah Kain Colter really started something that has huge snowball potential there.
And to be fair, the Ohio State Band is the best in the country. |

HA, he gets a free pass for everything around here. Letans gets crucified for turnovers, but man Malkin makes some dump plays too.
Everyone wants a top G, Weber on D, and 4 full lines with Hossa talent on the top 6, yet everyone forgets that 87 and 71 take up $20mil. |
