Well this has been pretty Laff- able. I see you're still feeding the trolls, so what is this the new norm taking Ek's strategy writing some good stuff but leaving just enough controversy to still the trolls up mixing with a big fan base to pump up the hits?
I hope Stralman doesn't do a Lindback on us because this site will be brutal with the Rags fans. Looks like the Laff fans will be here for awhile. Stirring up a Stamkos to Toronto for them works better than Cialis seeing they've been impotent for years.
This was a good site but it's quickly becoming the New Garth. - tpd11

Im not saying its a hundered percent chance hes coming here. Im just saying under the circumstances its very possible. Im just tired of hearing Tampa fans saying there is no chance that he leaves Tampa to come here to make themselves feel better. - JVR_42_PK81
And you don't think Tampa fans are tired of hearing the Toronto media and Leaf fans talk about him signing in Toronto to make themselves feel good and important? Goes both ways. I'd say they have much more reason to be annoyed. |

Isn't the main question: is Tampa better than Toronto WITHOUT Stammer. Of course they are better with him, and I think they are better without him too, but the appeal of moving home could sway him towards Toronto.
Most importantly, though, this is Toronto we're talking about. He's not going to Toronto. |

McDonagh will be the #1 guy but when I say I want Staal to return to #1 status I strictly mean his level of play. He can play 25-30 minutes a game and shut down Ovechkin, Crosby, Giroux, Stamkos, Kane, Kopitar, Lucic, etc. when he's at his best. - rangerdanger94
Does Lucic really belong on that list? |

If he leaves, I hope he fulfills his contract with Tampa better then some did. If he stays then we are that much better, but if he goes then so be it. Either way, it's two years away and not on the forefront of most minds. We would never be able to replace him, but depth wise we will be ok. |

Mike has been doing a little baiting, but comparing him to Garth? That's just REALLY (frank)ing mean! |

He's a pretty irreplaceable player, true, but I won't discount what Stevie-Y can pull off after seeing what he can do so far. Plus, he learned from a couple of the best in Detroit (not sure what's happening with Holland right now though).
I honestly don't think he will leave Tampa unless things start to implode, but I can't think of a team I would be more excited to be a fan of than Tampa right now. It's going to be a fun couple of years for you guys, and I'm for betting that it's fun for Stamkos, too. Doubt he will want to leave that situation. |

No it's been Garth like the last two weeks. A little baiting? Well maybe a little harsh so I'll be back when camp breaks in September when there's something to talk about. Brownie point for Arty. |

I do find it hilarious that anyone would try place meaning behind the sports-interview gobblygook that Stamkos uttered in the interview.
He said absolutely nothing.
He loves Tampa.
He loves Toronto.
Tampa has the greatest fans in the league.
Toronto has the most die-hard fans in hockey.
He is really happy to be here at this event today.
He's just going to take it one shift at a time.
And here's the kicker: he's focused on winning a Stanley Cup!
Wow, what an interview! |

Talent wise? No. But in terms of difficulty to contain? Maybe...his size and toughness makes him extremely hard to defend. Not many defenders can clear lucic out of the crease or hold their own ina scrum but staal is one who can. |

The other thing noone talks about is, would the Leafs even going to be able to fit him under the cap? Don't they have a lot of high dollar players signed for a long time? I didn't take the chance to look at it closely, but something to think about. |

As of now Cap geek says they have 27 million to sign 15 players, between now and then if these players progress as they should they will have to pay Bernier, Khadri, Rielly, and Gardiner probably close to 16 million....add Stamkos for 10 million and assume the cap goes up 5.....
Thats roughly about 8 million for a back up goalie, 4 bottom 6 forwards, 3 bottom pair D.....
JVR Stamkos Kessel
Clarkson Khadri Lupol
Kamarov Bozak ______
____ ______ ______
Phaneuf Rielly
Gardiner Robidas
_____ ______
Bernier
______
+ 3 Bench warmers...
(frank) it, I would do it I were the Leafs....but someone would have to go...who do think is the odd man out? Gotta think Lupol is the guy most expendable/moveable.

Yeah but does Stamkos want to play for a team that kills people, there lies the enigma! |

Of that I am certain. |
