wanna bring our friend Clarkson and his contract to the discussion?
- Wu_Habs

sure, and then we can talk about GOMEZ FOR MCDONAUGH. game over, nice try but there is literally nothing you can say about the leafs that is as bad as taking on gomez' awful contract and giving up a potential norris winner mcdonaugh.

I think 3.5 was a bit much, but they want to keep the younger players around and see the Habs built up with affordable depth in 2-3 seasons, just like LA, Chicago etc. If he produces slightly better than he is now he is a great 3rd line/PK center at a decent price. When the season ended I assumed it would be something like Eller 3-3.5 and Subban 7.5-8.5 per; heres to hoping they get Subban done at 7.5-8...

great comeback! here we are discussing the values between eller and bozak and since you clearly don't have anything beneficial to say, you decide to take the easy route. it's no wonder habs fans are rated the worst in the league

Hahahahaha. Let me get this straight. Eller wanted (reportedly) $3.1m/year while the habs offered $1.65m......Then they give him a $3.5m contract. Good negotiating!

hahaha dumbest team in hockey. $3.5m for a guy that got 26 points last season. I can't wait to see what Subban gets

I wouldn't call them the dumbest team in hockey.

They did just make the conference finals...

But, you are close, the dumbest team in the NHL is north of the border...

to be fair i think MON/TOR would have rioted too if they were in a similar situation. I would say OTT as well but you can't really call all 10 sens fans in Ottawa a riot. in fact it would be more of a celebration since there are more leaf fans in ottawa anyways.
- sensnucksnocups

Not just about the riot, living out west I know/have met a lot of Van fans, they're typically just a bunch of donkeys. I've never seen a group of people have so little knowledge and talk so much poop about a team who has won exactly (frank) all in their entire history.

Habs made the conference finals this year. Leafs took a step back again!

Talk about bad contracts and trades all you want, it's results I care about.

About 750k more than I thought Larry would get but I’m happy we have him for 4 more. Great skater, good hitter, has some good hands with the puck. Just get him to stop skating from one half wall, around the net, across the points and I’ll be thrilled lol. IMO, this paves the way for a Pleks/DD trade too. Not that I think Lars gets into the top six, but it would allow Galchenyuk to move into top 6 center role and Eller takes over D duties on the third line. Question is: what kind of return could we expect/want from Tommy P?

As for Subban, my guess is a 6-8 year deal (hopefully 8) at something like 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 9.5, 9.5. AAV: 7.8 mill. Give or take 500k on the AAV

ahahahah this is hilarious. habs fans make fun of the leafs for bozak getting 4M, and then eller gets 3.5 AHAHAHHA. at least bozak can place 1st line, eller is terrible and still gets healthy scratched.
- sensnucksnocups

I'd ask you to judge him by his playoff statistics but you obviously don't know what the playoffs are.

You guys may not be laughing at this contract as soon as next year. The kid's still young and showed a lot of promise during the lockout year. He could develop into a very solid 3rd line C, and 3.5 is not bad for an above average to good 3rd line C

I don't mind this contract at all. Eller is still young and has room to improve.

Now there's only Subban's contract to take care of and Bergevin can go on a small vacation.
