What about your MMA training? - Woderwick
To be honest with you, I haven't had much time to keep up my MMA training these past six months.
I've been focused more on my astronaut training. |

Mike Augello: Booth To Make Case For Top-Six Role; Looking Down The Road - mikeinbuffalo
The fact of the matter is that aside from a guy like Josh Leivo - who would do very well by another year in the AHL - there are no forwards on the Marlies that are "banging on the door" for a spot on the big club in a meaningful top-6 role. Santorelli or Booth can hopefully fill this spot for a year (preferably Clarkson) as the younger guys up front develop...no reason to rush anyone as certainly no one's development is being held back by playing meaningful minutes in the AHL.
Gauthier, Biggs, Broll, Devane are all future bottom six (hopefully Gauthier surprises with some offensive upside and is in the mix for top 6) and Nylander/Leivo seem to be the guys with the most upside to be impact NHLer's.
This has been a smart offseason in a lot of areas for the Leafs...finally seem to have a plan they are willing to stick to, and unfortunately (considering the draft year) I have a feeling this team is going to surprise. Goal scoring has never been a problem for this team - they've only strengthened weaknesses from last year by having the ability to play a longer bench deeper into games...no Olympics...should be interesting to say the least. If Franson plays like lockout year Franson instead of last year Franson (if they keep him) this team could win a round in my opinion...(looking forward to having that shredded) |

Oh i was excited for sure.. at the time I still believed that it was ok paying for intangibles and toughness, grit etc... I really believed the hype at the time.. and after his first 10-15 games was still willing to give him a chance..
but that fizzled out quickly.
overpaying for these types of intangible players is dumb - senstroll
Yup - overpay (invest) in high end skill or other unique needs and only when the time is right. I still think (hope) that he puts it together next year and can be a 15+ 2/3 line winger with all those "in"-tangibles. |
