Perron for prv was a homerun.

Two superior tenders for basically a 4th rounder (got his back in the schultz trade)

Adding much needed size for a guy who was pretty redundant on the oilers. And apparently was gonna be moved away from center anyways.

It is what it is, but arcobello probably isnt a huge dropoff from gags. And most importantly is better defensively.

Hes made more changes than any gm in the game in the last calendar year.

You said it a few posts ago, and maybe it is cause u just dont care about the oilers. But whatever the reasoning, you werent lying when u said tou clearly have no idea what ur talking about.
Thats the most logical thing uve said in any post regarding the oilers

I'll give you credit for the lucky Perron trade, but the rest is nowhere even close to brilliant. After all those moves he made this last year the Oilers don't look all that much better than they did last year. Couple new faces, slightly better skill, but nowhere near where they need to be to make the playoffs.

Low risk. High reward.

Even if its a longshot he ever hits that potential, the dollars, term and his usefullness on more than one line makes it totally worth it

we have had a knack for these types of players the last few years... at least he's not the top point getter in the KHL... been there, done that...

Admitted with Bollig I'm going off of friends that know him and played with/against him....With Cammi...I had first hand accounts.
- Iggysbff

Can't count friends that played against him though. If I did that my buddy would have me believe Jarrett Stoll is the absolute scum of the earth (sticking him in the nuts repeatedly, and nearly taking his head off in Bantam may have influenced his opinion though )

We disagree on Cammi (mainly because I think a "douche" can still be a very good teammate) and will reserve judgement for Bollig until after this year.

....Maybe Cammi grew up and legitimately changed (if he ever needed to)? When Arnold and Gaudreau came to play their game they were eating lunch by themselves. Cammi took it upon themselves to eat lunch with them and talk to them about the upcoming game. Both Gaudreau and Arnold talked about how much it meant to them when he did that.

Favourite player on the Oilers by a mile, I'd take him on our team in a heartbeat. I was super pissed when I heard EDM got him, I would've offered way more than vagaarvi
- Saskabush

Yeah. Hes a beaut.
Loves to mix it up. Physical, can be an annoying rat and get under the oppositions skin, but most of all skilled.

We need more of him.

Some have mentioned selling high on him; I disagree.
Maybe at a later date; but his skillset is so vital to us right now

Stoll is a great guy. lol. May have been tough to play against but still a really good guy. Cammi has not grown up. He has been a douche always. Re-confirmed with my son and some of the other boys on our hockey team last fall. I wanted to (frank)in punch him in the face that twat.

I dont think anyone that really understood the deficiencies in so many facets the oilers had, thought mact would get us into the playoffs in one offseason.

Hes plugging away, adding and making quality moves imo.

I also dont think the struggles any gm in edm has trying to add quality stars should be understated. Both in free agency and high caliber players that wont accept a trade there

I picked him back to back in playoff drafts, really impressed with him (and schwartz). I'd keep him, if the Oilers ever make the playoffs he could be exactly what they need to win.....If only the (frank)in blues would go on a run so I could win some god damn money

Same here. Hopefully Mac T will offer up Perron and Eberle for a 6'5 franchise centre.

Success in any european league does not equate to success in the nhl.

I find it mystifying that some people actually attempt to marginalize what is a grand canyon of differences between what it takes there and here to be successful

Are we referring to gio?

That guy is so fuking good. I seriously hope he repeats last year, so the braindead fans from the east are forced to give him his due. A quality number 1 defenceman

True. I wouldnt call that much of an accomplishment tho.
