It's a nice car. I approve, mainly because she can sync her phone and talk hands free now. She has no idea they created voicemail for a reason; if it rings, she will answer it, no matter when.

OK, once in a while she doesn't answer.

My philosophy is "if it's important they'll leave a message"

My philosophy is if you left a message and don't call back immediately then it wasn't that important and I'll just call you back at the appropriate time without ever having listened to your message.

My favorite is the following:

*friend calls*

*You just miss the phone call*

*Call them back in like 0.036 seconds*

*They don't pick up the phone*

LIKE WTF DID YOU DO RUN FROM THE PHONE WHEN IT RANG?!

Me too. I refuse to be a slave to technology.

She's a hotel GM with a competent staff, so you'd think the work calls and texts would be minimal, but no...one night after I had a severely stressful day, I'm trying to relax with her on the couch with a movie, but her phone keeps going off with texts. Turns out she was going back and forth with one of her front desk clerks about his (frank)ing dog for a half hour. His healthy dog. She can't help herself.

Also, if a text session goes on for more than 4 messages per person, it oughta be a phone call.

Yup.

Come on...can you not text your friend back so another earthquake can rattle my bed when I'm trying to sleep...

I've been kind of stand-offish on this whole advanced stats thing. If I was 20 I'd probably be eating it up but I've watched enough hockey organically over the last 35+ years to know a good player and a bad player when I see one. I know enough to see where the mistake was made and I'm good with that.

After listening to more statistical conversation than a human should endure I've been lead to this conclusion. Corsi and Fenwick and all that is like a fat crayon drawing of a tree. I can identify it as a tree. What teams are doing (all teams) with video break down and stats analysis... they're growing real trees and they aren't sharing yet. They might never share. That's their job. No one else is doing it right now.

do we miss the playoffs this year?
- 2Real

I think the New York Rangers remain strong.

I don't expect Washington to miss for a second straight season. New Coach. Upgraded D. They've always had the offense. Goaltending is average but not terrible in the least.

With this said, I think the Penguins will make the playoffs but they've taken massive steps back. Crosby will be Crosby, Malkin will be Malkin but losing all of madness, Brooks Orpik and James Neal in my opinion are huge losses. They may make the playoffs assuming Crosby and Malkin do not lose long stretches of time but I'm predicting they're gonna have a hard time this season.

Canes, Islanders, stink but I believe the true Wild Card are the Blue Jackets. I do think Hartnell somewhat helps their offense. They get a full season with Nathan Horton. I thought the Jackets were pretty convincing last season, even with the injuries of Bob, Grabrik and Horton.

I think we're a bubble team. I think the Devils are too.

Just a quick hit on airline food

Even first class doesnt get a free meal unless the flight is longer than 3 or 3.5 hours
Everyone else on coach pays for stuff ( snack trays or sandwiches depending on the flight)

Transatlantic flights get meals and usually entertainment for free

I flew Brtish Airways coach 6 years ago when I went to play hockey in Denmark, Gemany and Holland with a team from the Peg- it was nice . They had these weird bathtub seats facing each other in the higher class seats, looked like something out of DUNE

Getting sick while travelling by air , well you are in a high transient area with thousands of peoples new and exciting germs constantly being refreshed. Lots of hand wipes/purell, airborne vitamins and hopefully you arent sitting next to someone with sniffles or hacking.

But as well all know, going to work can make you sick (literally)

I was just sick & out for a week from someone who thinks coming into the office and coughing your guts out for 3 months is acceptable. URI and conjunctivitis, almost $200 in scripts as some of the meds werent covered. OSHA allows people who are a danger to other employees to be sent home, I made that point after the fact to an owner. I would have given that person one of my PTO days to stay home when they were contagious, it was that bad
