Yeah, good point. The last time we got a meal on a plane was a trip to San Diego. Even when we went to Aruba the food was limited to the bag of nuts

Yeah...I haven't flown much since 2006 or so. We went to Disney this summer. Driving down took awhile, but we saved a ton of cash....and that was before I calculated the expense for the extra bags and rental car for the week.

I'd have to include that if I ever make to England. That trip will likely have to wait until the kids are older or out of the house. For now we have to take kid centric trips, or at least go to places where there's a beach or some kind of amusement for the kids.

Yeah, those are nice. I'm trying to get her to agree to a lightly used vehicle, but she wants brand spanking new.

Last time we bought one we went in February and got a left over for like $4K under the original sticker.

Same discussions as the last twenty seven times, too, I will assume (since I'm not gonna backread all of it).

So, the Mrs got a new used car tonight. I looked at the mpg, suggested tire pressures, and fluid capacities and thought of all of you. So there.

- tangent_man

why would you think of us in connection to those things? they remind of you (frank)wick stats?

what did she get? does mr. tangent_man approve?

you can buy food in the airport and bring it on the plane? that said, i travelled first class a few years ago back from mexico, and the food, surprisingly was quite good.

Obviously the MPG is flawed.

It's my fault, I was an idiot and decided to reply. Next time I'm going to shut up and giggle at the outdated humor of Robin Hood, men In Tights

carsense is great for that. most of their inventory is 2 years old or newer, low miles, and pretty good, no-haggle prices. we've bought 2 cars from them.

Depends on who is counting the mpg and the context. Is it highway...is it city driving. What kind of petrol one is consuming.

I actually prefer driving. We used to fly for vacation every year, be it Florida or Aruba or California and every time we flew one or both of us would end up sick during the damned vacation

Since 2008 or so, we've pretty much done the East coast. We've done Florida three or four times, DC/Williamsburg once and OBX once. The FLA drive is a bit of a chore, but if planned right and splitting the driving it's not bad at all

now this i agree with in general, assuming the food has a strong odor, like the wenches sitting behind me on previously mentioned trip to mexico on the way down in coach. bunch of 60+ northeast philly broads, hammered, eating (frank)ing tuna, cackling like bumholes, and literally kicking and punching the back of my seat in the process. hence the first class cabin on the return.

I have been looking there and a few other places. I started to casually look in January at local lots. She wants something with 3 rows of seats.

My driving depends on the time of year. Summer I city drive. Winter, it's a lot less stop & go

We have a Honda Pilot and it's great for that aspect, though I'd have preferred something bigger
