I remember reading a story (probably 20 years ago) about an Aeroflot flight where the hydraulic landing gear wouldn't go down - no pressure.

So the flight engineer went to the back of the plane, grabbed some bottles of lemonade, and poured it into the landing gear. Wheels came down and they landed.

I would prefer to sit in the balcony because of the price, but honestly those tickets are still pretty pricey. They're maybe like 700 less for a good blacony ticket

I actually was in an emergency landing in an abandoned air force base in NC on a flight from FL to BOS when I was about 5. They had firetrucks everywhere and we had to go down the slide thing. part of the landing gear wasn't working correctly and well at least it was somoewhat of a "controlled" landing.
