I wouldn't trade JVR for O'Rielly...JVRs contract is sweet and he's probably a better player anyway. But yeah you wouldn't get ROR for anything else anyway. Which is probably why they're both still with their teams.

From what I saw JVR's gotten pretty good at standing in front of the net and driving the net...but you know when a team crashes and burns like the Leafs did, there's probably not enough guys driving the net.

Yeah if nothing else, the Leafs have taken a bunch of one-off, bargain bin gambles for bottom six guys this year. Here's hoping all these guys play hard, Van fans seemed to like Santo a lot last year.

Who's the gm who made the JVR trade? Great (frank)ing steal.

thats convincing
Reimer has more wins, a better win %, more playoff starts and wins

not to mention Bernier signed his current deal before playing with the leafs..and padding up those numbers.

if you take the bias out of it...they should make about the same

- senstroll

Haha it's funny how you say better winning percentage. It is nearly identical by a fraction. Who's biased now? Hypocrite. And for playoffs? Ok great he has had 7 playoff starts. The GAA is much better for Bernier. The save percentage is much better for Bernier. No bias for me. However for you to say Remiers stats are just as good as bernier's proves your biased.

That was Burke. Burke did pull some great trades. Leafs sure needed one like that to go their way for a change. JVR with his contract for Schenn is a pure, straight theft by the Leafs.

the part that I dont get is why people want a worse backup...just to see him gone.

Cap space, no goalie drama, no more Remier fans like you crying about bernier being better than Remier.

you are really stretching

Ok? So what? What arbitrators look at is how much goalies are getting paid of similar age as an RFA. The contracts don't have be signed the exact same free agent year.

i dont care whos better...I just want the best team.. Reimer/Bernier is better than anything else mentioned.. Broduer or whoever

why is it so hard to grasp..having the best players gives the team the best chance to win.

right and his age and numbers are almost identical to Bernier..you can give each a plus and minus here and there..but its close to a wash

914 save percentage Remier , 918 save percentage Bernier. Remier GAA 2.85 Bernier GAA 2.51. Sorry the stats are a bit farther apart than you think. Win percentage is identical so it's a wash.

If rebound control, poise, positioning was. Stat Bernier would win in a landslide an it wouldn't even be a question which stats were better.

sv% only really matters...at how high a rate you stop the puck.
How you get it done does not matter
if you factor in Reimers .923 in the playoffs he is around .915 career

its close

Correct
There are other young goalies who have similar stats to James who are paid well
2.5 is good for a 1 yr deal if that's what the arb decides or if that's what they settle at

Wtf? You can't just assume if you factor in Remiers 7 games. Only 7. Into 160 games and assume that it would bump it over 915 save percentage. While you are at it let's assume Bernier's 100 save percentage in the playoffs would bump his career save percentage up to 919. So once again it's not close.

Edit: and what's the most relivant is the stats that have happend most recently. So this past year they would take into most account.

Grant Koppers is a friend of mine...the new baits are called the Yearling Series, 7 to 9 little minnows per side on the jerk baits, each raised to add dimension and create multiple flash points. Pretty cool. Try a search for Live Target Yearling and see if something pops up.
