I always liked Kadri too...I've always been biased towards keeping him because for once since the 80s I'd like to see the Leafs try to keep a top draft pick during his cheap years and enjoy the payoff if it comes. Alex Steen's numbers this year made me puke. Also because a big rival in my hockey pool had Steen as his (frank)ing lucky star and that was the difference maker. Getting beat by Alex (frank)ing Steen sucked. - Zezel
That was a tough deal
I remember the announcement of that deal
Deal on the surface favoured the blues but it took a few years for that to be evident |

Still don't see theme doing they would lose millions and millions if even 25% of the GTA switch to a new team. - Yeti1181
With the way the Leafs bankroll the league along with Montreal and New York, it seems impossible the league will look at another GTA team for a long time.
Can you imagine the insanity if there was a rival TO team though? Sweet Jesus. |

Just goes to show, who knows what can happen with a player. Nobody on this planet predicted Steen's numbers this year. My buddy picked him in like the 8th round of our draft and it was the greatest ace in the hole ever in this pool, drove me utterly insane. I was chasing him all year and Steen was the difference. |

They could put 2 more teams in the GTA and they would sell out every game |

Your trolling is all over the (frank)ing shop. Now we are having an extra team in the GTA.

Yep, the Leafs will just say no, and that'll be the end of it. Really this Markham thing will be a concert venue that isn't downtown, and it'll do great business at that. |

I met Carlo at an event in Brampton in the summer before the season started
I asked him if he was in good health and if he was ready to go and he said yes and then I think like 15 games into the season he was dealt |

Council did not want to spend a cent
Initial investor - roustan is out because he wanted to split the cost
But the mayor keeps expressing interest in having the arena built
I think if someone comes up with 350m and zero city money / it will get built |

lol yeah time flies
(frank) yeah thinking of Fletcher's late career moves with the Leafs (wtf was that all about anyway) and some of the ways the game had passed by Leafs management over the last few years makes me hopeful about guys like Shanahan and this new AGM being in the fold, maybe some new ideas
I really like Burke, but what was the deal with that goalie coach we had who was supposedly the best, then suddenly he sucks? Some of Burke's moves were just amazing, but man he could strike out too.
For the love of God please let my beleaf that Brendan Shanahan really knows hockey be true.

That's a lot of money to invest without any city help. I'm a big supporter of cities helping with stuff like that because it's good for the city in general and creates jobs as well. |

Interesting...but who wants to invest that kind of money with no NHL team? If you had one, it's a no-brainer. But to get one, the Leafs are going to say we want a billion dollars for starters as a territory fee...it's like trying to run a gambling and loansharking business in Tony Soprano's neighbourhood |

Allaire, Francois
He is the goalie coach for the Avs now
Did some wonders helping varlamov
He was made the scapegoat here - by firing him - it's a pattern as the asst coaches fired earlier this spring |

Yes, Allaire. Couldn't remember the name.
Yeah, that seemed weird from Burke. Allaire's supposedly amazing and then Burke's comments kind of threw him under the bus. Lol everyone ended up getting fired eventually. |

They were buddies from Anaheim
He was giggys goalie coach there when he won the cup
I believe scrivens even said he was going to attend allaires goalie summer camp
after the leafs fired him |

The goaltending did get better once he left though.
He had this weird idea to change goalies styles if they had success. He tried to completely change Gustavsson when he arrived. He also tried to change Reimer after his great rookie season. |

everyone forgets that this was the only great year steen had (besides his rookie season). He had a few good years, but it took 11 years from his draft for him to have a very good season. Let's see if he keeps it up.
Not a kadri fan by any means but let's hope he smartens up. He certainly has the talent he just has no brains. Hopefully he has matured |
