Hence why Brassard is going to arbitration. 45 pt players don't get 6m. - Feds91Stammer
yes. but players that stick around generally are the ones who avoid arbitration. That and the Rangers are listening to offers from interested teams = trade rumors |

"A source familiar with this situation tells me that while teams are welcomed to continue their "offerings" it appears as though the Sabres are "unofficially" saying he is not available at this time."
...is the source a interview with Tim Murray where he point blank SAID he would listen to offers for anyone, but wasn't LOOKING to trade anyone?
...cuz that would be a good source.....officially. - seedy
no. that would be a public interview with a GM...subtle difference.... |

He'll easily get 4+.
Just because Zucc signed for stupid cheap doesn't mean that's what he's actually worth. - BINGO!
They were/are both RFCs this summer, so much more than 4 is overpaying at this point, with no offer sheets coming his way, he doesn't have a ton of leverage.
If he's smart he'll sign a similar 1 year deal like Zucc did for about the same, maybe slightly more. Then he and the team can try to work out something long term, closer to the 5 range and, if not, they can move him at the deadline and he can be UFA next year and some other sucker team can pay 6 for him... |

so are the leafs still looking to move Phaneuf? - zazzle
they are trying. not looking likely at this point but if they can't it won't be for a lack of creative solutions. The latest appears to be they are packaging Phaneuf with a very good prospect. |

Listening to offers and shopping a player are two totally different things. |

I would say that's pretty much the likely scenario...but there could be an intriguing deal to be made now..so they are listening |

They will in the near future.
45 point players get about $4-4.5 now. |

The near future? Is this before or after the next lockout? |

love the term "unsubstantiated rumors" since information substantiated is by definition NOT a rumor. |

it would include Josh Bailey and also I was told a high draft pick they just chose, plus |

Seems the likely case, I was thinking more along the terms of what he would get on a 3-4 year contract. A one year deal makes a lot of sense. |
