This is just fantastic.

Two full years prior to it being a remote possibility, the "Stamkos to Toronto because he's from Ontario" rumors have begun.

Thats really sad. If he is healthy and put on a 2nd line at least I can see him putting up at least 25 goals. I dont understand the hesitation. He is better than Lecavalier is right now. I think we can all agree on that!!!!

mind-boggling to me that he can't get a gig that he deems worth it/worthy at 34.

Shouldnt he?! The guy isnt some scrub. Thats a total lack of respect for everything he has done in his career. I will always remember his clutch goals in the playoffs.

oh I agree

Gagne playing in the minors... well he doesn't need to do that

I really wonder what happened last summer, thought for sure he would have been offered a deal

he could still play very good two way hockey

I would have liked to see him with Couts and Read

then there would have been no need for the Downie deal, and maybe Talbot would have stayed a Flyer

whatever, water under the bridge now

The risk is that he goes on LTIR for most of the season... not many GM's have the flexibility/resources/willingness to deal with that.

He played 3rd line with us last time he was here in the lockout season. I thought he played well. He wasnt given a chance to do much else.

Hextall saw him in LA and they traded him/let him go after winning the Cup. Do you think he knows more than we do ? I love the guy but he went through a lot of strange medical treatments to try playing again when having Post Conc Syndrome. Remember Forsbergs foot, this is the same kind of on again off again problem with Gagne in a way, I think he is fragile and has issues

He never fit in with LA. When with Tampa it was almost the same situation Vinny was put in with us. Tough adjustment. He still turned it on late and played great playoff hockey for the bolts

game 6, tampa.
game 7, boston.

I thought we were closer to winning a cup in 2004 than we were in 2010. As crazy as that sounds. Flyers were decimated with injuries and still only loss by a goal in game 7 to Tampa. If we would have won that series. No doubt we beat Calgary. Same thing with 2000, Lindros doesnt go down and we win the cup.

Gagne was counted out long before we even traded him away for Walker. He's a player who proved us wrong again and again and it still wasn't good enough. In fact an argument could be made that his all around game improved the team during the second half of the half season. The team played much better as a whole. Of course, still not good enough.

Well, the Flyers were 2 wins from the Cup in '10, so no, they weren't closer in '04.

However, there are a few of us here who believe strongly that if the Flyers hadn't run out of defensemen in the '04 playoffs, they'd have beaten TB and CGY.

Just think, we could be fans of a team that has 4 Cups and winners of two straight appearances, instead of fans of a franchise that has lost its last 6 SCF appearances.

they were close both times. if they had 2004 esche in 2010, i think they win.

so frustrating they couldn't eak out more than 1 gddamn goal in game 7. i also believe they beat if they could have gotten there.

also a shot, that the flyers win the cup in 2000 if lindros doesn't come back.

i don't want to go down this road right now. it's been done too many times. 2000, 2004, and 2010 will always bother me amongst the near misses more than the others.
