Zukes is a great player. Sure, undersized, but has a ton of heart, great skill and speed to burn. This could be a good deal, overall, because MSL will be off the payroll next year and if Mats performs as he should, then he can sign a longer extension for a bit more money.

On a side note, enjoy MSL for what he is: great speed and shiftiness, can come up with clutch goals... but in a full season, he can (and will) make some absolute head-shakers in the defensive zone. Also, he tends to be a bit of a puck hog a times.

That said, oh well, it's one year and he's done... not much risk, really.

Our farm system lacks any superstar talent but JT Miller, Jesper Fast, Oscar Lindberg, Anthony Duclair, Pavel Buchnevich, and Brady Skjei are all really good prospects. Skjei in particular could even develop into a top-pairing defenseman. McIlrath is still a wildcard too.

JT Miller will likely make an impact this year on the big club.

Also, while Stepan, Hagelin, Kreider, Staal, and Hank are the only "draft picks" on the roster, we bred McDonagh, Girardi, Talbot, Zuccarello. Dominic Moore was also a Rangers draft pick originally.

Why is he done after this season? Is it because he's not in Tampa or do you honestly believe he can't play into his 40's, he's certainly in great shape for 38 and he's home
