Wow Zuccs took a lot less than I thought he would. Should be interesting next offseason

Yea, this deal has to have likely saved the Rangers 1 mil cap wise as I think most of us had Zuc pencilled in for 4.5 & we all know with the Rangers up against the cap ceiling that potential 1 mil saved could be huge.

I'm going to be pissed about this deal until he signs a long term contract during the season, with our A-hole GM I'm not gonna hold my breath, he yet again shows that he hates homegrown players, rarely does he show them any respect, can't wait to hear how he drags Kreider through the mud

The A-hole GM was also the same guy that signed a 5'6 Free Agent from Norway, because of which we are even having this debate of whether another below market one year deal is a good thing or a bad one. Cut him some slack.

Could be deadly if he puts up 60 pts again though. Though, last year could have been a career year.

Good signing for the upcoming season though

I really need to know how they came to a 1 year deal, this Glass signing will haunt us, $1.5 million more on the cap and I guarantee a multi year deal would have been agreed upon, sorry Pete but I hate how we treat our own and roll the red carpet out for free agents

We can rip Sather forever for some if his moves which we all know have failed, but equally he needs to be praised for moves like the Zuc signing, the McD trade, etc. it goes both ways.

Just happy to have Zucc signed. Arbitration is mud slinging and he deserves none. Wish we could get Kreider long term but the money is too tight this year. Let him go to arbitration and get less than he wants for 2 years if that's what he chooses. He would be wise to agree beforehand but it is what it is. His choice.

I've gone to the McDonagh well one too many times already, I credit Zucc to the scouts, Sather's minions are the one who should get credit, without Gordie Clark I'm not sure we are where we are

So, who will be the top scorer on the Rangers this upcoming season?

Everyone keeps mentioning the rangers offered Kreider 1.9 or 2.2. Two separate offers. The way I read the report was its a 2 year deal for 1.9 is year and 2.2 next.

Zucc took one for the team

He will get paid, just has to wait one season. because of cap restraints. He knows it and would probably not get as much through arbitration.

Two (okay...three) more to go...

But who hires the "minions"? Who takes what the "minions" say and goes out and actually works out a blockbuster trade based on their word? Who fired Tortorella after we made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs the year after an ECF run and hired AV? Who made the call to trade the team captain for a 38 year old in the middle of a playoff run? Who was able to avoid overpaying for Brian Boyle and Benoit Pouliot and bring in speedy forwards on cheap deals that fit the system better?

What if Gorton has been handling all contracts and salary cap issues for the past 4 years? Do you still share the same sentiments? Or is it mainly just anti-Sather hate?

I hope that's what it is and not Sather rolling the dice only to wait until next summer to start negotiations in a long term deal

I see 12 Rangers busting 30+ points with the depth range they have.
